Six-year NFL veteran quarterback Mike Glennon has agreed to a new contract with the Oakland Raiders. As of this posting, the exact length and value of the contract are unknown to the public. Glennon, a North Carolina State product, spent the 2018 season with the Arizona Cardinals but also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Chicago Bears.

Glennon spent the entirety of the 2018 season serving as the Arizona Cardinals’ backup quarterback. Initially the third-string quarterback behind Sam Bradford and Josh Rosen, Glennon became the backup after Bradford was released in September. Glennon made his way into two games, completing 15 of his 21 pass attempts for 174 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions.

Glennon initially entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Taken by Greg Schiano and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Glennon started the season behind Josh Freeman on the depth chart. However, Glennon took the starting job in Week Four, starting the final 14 games of the season. During his rookie season, Glennon completed 59.4% of his pass attempts for 2,608 yards, 19 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

Despite starting for the majority of his rookie season, Glennon returned to the bench for the majority of 2014. Primarily serving behind the newly-signed Josh McCown, Glennon made his way into six games, starting five. During his time on the field, Glennon completed 57.6% of his pass attempts for 1,417 yards, 10 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

After backing up Jameis Winston for two years, Glennon left Tampa Bay to join the Chicago Bears prior to the 2017 season. Glennon made four starts for the Bears, completing 66.4% of his passes for 833 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions. Chicago went just 1-3 under his helm before then-coach John Fox turned the reigns over to rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

Throughout his career, Glennon has completed 60.9% of his passes for 5,107 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions, good for an 84.0 passer rating. Glennon has appeared in 27 games throughout his NFL career, starting 22. Glennon has an underwhelming 6-16 record as a starting quarterback.
