It’s finally here! After 15 wild weeks, only two teams per league are left fighting for the ultimate prize: the fantasy football championship. Whether you’re trying to win it all or merely going for the consolation bracket, you’ll probably need to pick up a player or two on the waiver wire. Heading into Week 16, the Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins are two of the top Week 16 defenses likely on your waiver wire.

Tennessee Titans

Coming off a shutout of the New York Giants, the Tennessee Titans defense is primed to put together another strong game. The Titans had one of the best defensive performances of Week 15, holding a then-hot Giants offense to zero points while recording three sacks, one interception, and a fumble recovery. All in all, the Titans defense recorded 17 fantasy points in standard scoring.

They should be able to put up another strong performance in Week 16. Tennessee gets to host the Josh Johnson led Washington Redskins in championship weekend. Johnson put up a mediocre performance against a subpar Jaguars defense, but he will probably be even worse his next time on the field. There’s a reason he hasn’t thrown a meaningful NFL pass since 2011, after all. Look for the Titans to get multiple sacks and probably a turnover or two in a low-scoring game.

Miami Dolphins

Playing the Miami Dolphins defense after they gave up 44 points may not seem like a smart idea, but the matchup is just too good. The Jacksonville Jaguars are arguably the worst offense in the league, and new starting quarterback Cody Kessler simply isn’t an NFL-caliber quarterback. Kessler finished with just 57 passing yards in Week 15, piloting the Jaguars to just 13 points.

This wasn’t a one-week fluke, either. Jacksonville averages just 9.3 points per game with Kessler under center. It’s one thing to say an offense is stuck in first gear, but the Jaguars offense doesn’t even have an engine right now. Maimi’s defense is certainly capable of stopping an anemic offense like the Jaguars.

Cleveland Browns

Despite being owned in just 10.4% of NFL.com fantasy leagues, the Cleveland Browns defense is currently ranked 15th overall in standard scoring. This unit is capable of being a smart matchup play, and they face a highly favorable matchup in Week 16.

The Browns host Jeff Driskel and the wayward Cincinnati Bengals offense in Week 16. Since Andy Dalton went down with a thumb injury, the Bengals offense is averaging 20.3 points per game. However, that number is significantly inflated by a 30-point outing against the hapless Oakland Raiders. In their previous two games with Driskel, the Bengals offense scored just 15.5 points per game.

Driskel isn’t an active liability under center like Kessler or Johnson, but he’s still a subpar quarterback. The Browns defense should be able to record a few sacks and get some turnovers against a defense missing their quarterback and their top two receivers.
