Baker Mayfield

Baker Mayfield is the franchise savior that Cleveland Browns fans have been praying for. The first-overall pick has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league ever since Hue Jackson left town. Over his past three games, the quarterback has thrown for 771 yards, nine touchdowns, and just one interception. He’s improved in each and every week and should continue to grow for the rest of the season.

Despite his high profile, Mayfield is owned in just 25.2% of NFLcom fantasy leagues. While he’s not a better option than a guy like Drew Brees, he’s more than serviceable as a week-by-week starter. Mayfield doesn’t have the best matchup in Week 13, as the Houston Texans are one of the best defenses against the quarterback position. However, he’ll still put up solid numbers. He’s too good not to.

Dak Prescott

What a difference having Amari Cooper makes. Dak Prescott was one of the worst fantasy football quarterbacks throughout the early part of the season but has emerged into a legit starter over the past month. Since the Cooper trade, Prescott has thrown for 1,010 yards, five touchdowns, and just one interception. He’s also shown a willingness to run, recording 43 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns over the past month.

Prescott faces an interesting matchup in Week 13 against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints defense has played better of late, but still entered Week 12 allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to the quarterback position. The Saints offense is unstoppable, and Prescott will have to throw to keep up. Whether it’s an old-fashioned shootout or just garbage time yardage, Prescott should have a good fantasy outing against the Saints.

Case Keenum

Mayfield and Prescott are mostly unowned, but players in deeper leagues might find both guys already rostered. If that’s the case, take a flier on Denver Broncos quarterback Case Keenum. Keenum had a rough start to the season, making most believe that the journeyman quarterback has little to no fantasy value. While he hasn’t lit the world on fire by any means, Keenum has thrown for 692 yards and three touchdowns over his past three games. This is decent production considering he’s faced some solid defenses, and he should eclipse these performances in Week 13.

Keenum and the Broncos face off against an abhorrent Cincinnati Bengals defense in Week 13. The Bengals currently allow 23.0 fantasy points per game to the quarterback position, second-worst in the league. While Keenum isn’t a worldbeater by any means, he’s more than good enough to take advantage of this defense. Owned in just 3.7% of fantasy leagues, Keenum can be a startable asset in deeper, two-quarterback leagues.
