The belief that games are won and lost in the trenches is about as cliché as can be, but it’s just as correct. While the overall offensive line play in the NFL is not quite what it once was, it still has plenty of elite talents. Continuing our look at each division, our offensive linemen rankings range from sure-fire Hall of Fame-bound players to some up-and-coming young talents about to break through.
Last Word on NFL’s Official Offensive Linemen Rankings For 2026
AFC North
According to Drew Crabtree
“It’s about as cliché as it gets to say football is won and lost in the trenches. If you’ve watched AFC North football for any period of time, you’d know it’s less a cliché and more a sure thing like gravity or Marvin Lewis losing in the playoffs. Over the years, AFC North offensive linemen have been some of the best. From Anthony Muñoz and Willie Anderson to Joe Thomas and Jonathan Odgen, some of the best players at the position have played in the nastiest division in football.
Heading into 2026, there have been some power shifts. The Bengals used to have Wal-Mart greeters and mall walkers blocking for the franchise quarterback in the Super Bowl, while the Browns had an elite unit that amounted to nothing. Now, all four teams look good. However, when it comes to individual players, how do they stack up?…” READ MORE
AFC South
According to Lance Warren
“The AFC South had two playoff teams in 2025, with both the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans going 13-4 and 12-5, respectively. But despite the common notion that the best teams in the NFL are built in the trenches, neither of these AFC South offensive line rooms was particularly impressive in 2025 (and one of them will not feature a player on this list).
For that matter, Pro Football Network’s Offensive Line Impact metric graded these two lines as bottom 10 units in the entire NFL, with the Jaguars coming in at 26th and the Texans at 24th. The Tennessee Titans also came in the bottom ten by the same metric, ranking at 22nd.
But it’s a new season, and the AFC South offensive linemen room is still flush with talent, including one of the best units in the entire NFL, one of the best up-and-coming individual linemen in the league, and one team that definitely made an effort this offseason to improve its line.
With that said, here’s a look at the top five AFC South offensive linemen as the 2026 season approaches…” READ MORE
AFC East
According to Lance Warren
“The AFC East was somewhat of a welcome surprise in 2025.
For starters, nobody saw the New England Patriots going 14-3 and snagging the division crown away from the Buffalo Bills, but that’s what happened.
Now, how did these AFC East offensive linemen figure into the equation when it came to deciding the division last year, and how will they figure in when it comes to the 2026 season?
For the New York Jets, can they continue to rebuild this young offensive line into something resembling decency?
Can the Miami Dolphins’ rebuild begin with some protection for star running back De’Von Achane and recently signed quarterback Malik Willis?
And lastly, for the Patriots and Bills, can their offensive lines continue to improve so that they can build on playoff seasons in 2025?
With that said, here is a look at the top five AFC East offensive linemen for 2026…” READ MORE
AFC West
According to Jordan Coburn
“The AFC West has many talented quarterbacks heading into the 2026 NFL season, but how well they do starts with who’s protecting them on the offensive line. Now it’s time to rank the top offensive linemen within this division…” READ MORE
NFC North
According to David Keech
“The men in the trenches don’t often get the credit they deserve, but find a team struggling in their running or passing game, and the line is to blame. In examining the best NFC North Offensive Linemen for 2026, it is important to consider which linemen truly make a difference. Which linemen excel in the running and passing games? A good test of how good a lineman is? When he is out of the lineup, the offense noticeably struggles.
We return with Last Word on the NFL’s top returning series as we take a look at the best players at their position groups. Who makes number one as the best NFC North Offensive Lineman for 2026? Let’s take a look…” READ MORE
NFC South
According to Alain Pierre
“For years, the NFC South has been known for its elite defensive talent, but it has also become one of the better places for offensive line play. From protecting franchise quarterbacks to paving the way for productive rushing attacks, many offensive linemen in the division have become among the NFL’s best.
All four teams in the NFC South have offensive linemen worth talking about. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are led by arguably the NFL’s best left tackle, Tristan Wirfs, while the Atlanta Falcons have one of the league’s top guards, Chris Lindstrom. The Carolina Panthers have built one of the division’s better offensive lines behind veterans Robert Hunt and Taylor Moton, and the New Orleans Saints have plenty to be excited about with rookie left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. and veteran center Erik McCoy anchoring their front.
With a mix of established veterans and young players on the rise, the NFC South has quietly become one of the strongest divisions in terms of offensive line talent. A few players just missed the cut, but these are the five offensive linemen who stand above the rest heading into the 2026 season…” READ MORE
NFC East
According to Drew Crabtree
“The NFC East has been home to some of the most elite offensive lines and linemen in recent memory. Offensive line play has been a big reason for the Philadelphia Eagles’ playoff runs, and the Dallas Cowboys have routinely squandered elite offensive lines. Heading into 2026, there are some stalwarts at the position who, despite being a year or two away from retirement, can still play at an elite level…” READ MORE
NFC West
According to Drew Crabtree
“NFC West offensive linemen pave the way for greatness. Five of the last eight Super Bowls featured an NFC West, and the play of the offensive line has been a massive reason why. Between plenty of young, ascending talents and a few sure-fire Hall of Fame players, the division has had high-end play for a while now. Heading into 2026, there are a handful of individual players who stand above the rest, led by perhaps the most obvious pick for number one…” READ MORE
