Jets Rumors: Teams May Eye Massive Trade For Hidden $4M Unappreciated Back

Following the extension of RB Breece Hall this offseason, Isaiah Davis trade rumors have been silently trickling in the background as it’s been urged that the New York Jets should move him. According to Bleacher Report, the source believes Davis might be the team’s top trade candidate, especially with Hall and Braelon Allen sharing most of the snaps. However, with the anticipation that the Jets will use Hall for the majority of their ground game, it already puts Davis on the back burner. Allen is the obvious favorite to back Hall, so this means moving the former 2024 draft pick would make sense.

While the fifth-rounder is entering the third year in the NFL, the RB is coming off a season-ending injury he suffered in January. Teams could be wary of even trading for him since no draft capital is arguably worth getting him. There are still available free agent RB’s in the market, including Najee Harris, Joe Mixon and Nick Chubb, and it shouldn’t be surprising if teams look there first before the 2026 season. However, the option is still there for the opportunity to bring in an unestablished back that hasn’t seen the field much.

Isaiah Davis Trade Rumors: Jets May Shop $4M Hidden Star

Could the Jets Keep the RB3?

It’s likely the option for the Jets to keep Davis for another season. However, it’d be hard to increase his trade value given that they aren’t going to use him much. With that, the team should explore some type of deal that would wind up having the RB move somewhere he can have a larger role. Where could that be? Let’s explore the three potential teams willing to give him a shot.

Possible Fits

Dallas Cowboys

Despite extending Javonte Williams, between Jaydon Blue, Malik Davis and Phil Mafah, the RB depth room is still a concern. The Dallas Cowboys haven’t drafted a single RB, and while they worked out Zamir White, it shows that they’re searching for a new RB. Malik Davis is still the favorite to win the backup job, but that doesn’t seem a guarantee anymore with the team still looking for a backup.

Meanwhile, this is where Isaiah Davis could come in handy. The Cowboys don’t need a starter, but they could roll the dice on the underappreciated back for a chance to revitalize his career.

New Orleans Saints

With the Saints looking to move veteran Alvin Kamara, the New Orleans Saints might still look to address the RB depth. Draft bust Kendre Miller is likely to be cut before the 2026 season, and this is where Davis could move in as a potential backup. He and Devin Neal might fight for backup duties to assist new free agent acquisition Travis Etienne this upcoming campaign.

Baltimore Ravens

After letting Keaton Mitchell walk, the RB was shocked that it happened, but the Baltimore Ravens could address it by adding a replacement. With Derrick Henry getting older, the Ravens will have to think about life after him. Justice Hill is a solid downhill RB in screen situations, but they also need someone who can run the ball consistently. It isn’t to say that Davis will be doing that, but in Jesse Minter’s new scheme, he could find his rhythm in Baltimore.
