The Los Angeles Chargers added many potential impactful players through the NFL Draft this offseason, and they continued to add more talent to the roster with one of the best undrafted free agent classes in the NFL. Here are five Chargers UDFAs who could make the team’s 53-man roster.
5 Chargers UDFAs Who Could Make an Impact On The Team In 2026
OT Isaiah World, Oregon
One of the best undrafted players in the 2026 draft class and arguably the best undrafted offensive lineman, World has the talent to be a productive player in the NFL. He had a bit of an inconsistent season in his one year at the Power Four conference level, and World also tore his ACL in the College Football Playoff against Indiana.
However, World is an experienced offensive lineman as a four-year starter with 51 total games played in college. He also has tremendous arm length, quick feet, and great overall movement skills. If World recovers well from the ACL injury, he has the talent to be a solid developmental depth offensive lineman with the potential to develop into a quality offensive lineman in the NFL.

Edge Nadame Tucker, Western Michigan
Tucker was a highly productive pass rusher for Western Michigan in 2025. He tied David Bailey as the nation’s leader in total sacks on the season with 14.5. Tucker also had a MAC-leading 21.0 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, and an elite 90.6 PFF grade to win MAC Defensive Player of the Year.
Tucker will be a 26-year-old rookie, and he had just one year of good production and one year as a full-time starter in the FBS. However, he had elite production in his one season as a full-time starter at Western Michigan. Tucker is a high-effort pass rusher with solid bend and first-step quickness, and he has a chance to become a good rotational pass rusher in the NFL.
LB Lander Barton, Utah
Barton has good height and arm length for the position, and he plays the game with a high motor and good competitive toughness. He is also a versatile player who caught six passes for 44 yards and one touchdown as a tight end in 2025. Barton lacks great overall movement skills and change-of-direction ability, but he has the size and motor to potentially be a solid depth linebacker, and he has the skill set to potentially be a great special teams contributor at the next level.
CB Avery Smith, Toledo
Smith is an undersized cornerback who has good but not great overall athletic ability, but he plays with tremendous toughness and confidence. He is also a smart football player with great instincts and good route recogntion. Smith is really great in off-coverage with a great ability to quickly close throwing windows and attack the football. He recorded 14 pass deflections in 2024 and 11 pass deflections in 2025, but he does need to improve his ability to convert more of his plays on the ball into interceptions at the next level.
Smith is also a very willing run defender and has good special teams experience. He recorded both a blocked punt and a blocked field goal during his college career. With his special teams ability, Smith has a chance to earn a spot on the 53-man roster, and he has the potential to become a quality nickel corner as well.
CB Rodney Shelley, Georgia Tech
Like Smith, Shelley is an undersized cornerback, but Shelley possesses great long speed and good overall athletic ability. He ran a 4.41 40-yard dash time at his pro-day, and has the ability to effectively carry receivers vertically downfield. He also has solid change of direction ability and is a willing run defender with good special teams experience.
