Devin Bush Signs Contract With Chicago Bears

Seven-year veteran linebacker Devin Bush signed a new three-year, $30 million contract with the Chicago Bears. Bush, a former first-round pick, spent the 2025 season with the Cleveland Browns but also played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks.

The 2025 season was arguably the best of Bush’s career. While the Browns themselves struggled to win football games, the team had one of the best defenses in football, and Bush played a large role in the unit’s success. Starting in all 17 games, the Michigan product finished the season with 125 tackles, seven tackles-for-loss, two sacks, four quarterback hits, and three interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns. He also finished the year with an impressive 87.6 PFF grade, the fourth-best mark in the league among eligible linebackers.

Devin Bush originally entered the league as a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Michigan product made an immediate impact. Appearing in all 16 games, the rookie finished his inaugural campaign with 109 tackles, nine tackles-for-loss, one sack, two quarterback hits, and two interceptions. Despite his strong play, the Steelers stumbled to an 8-8 record after losing Ben Roethlisberger to a season-ending elbow injury early in the year.

Injuries limited Bush to just five games in 2020, but he returned to the field in 2021, although he never recaptured his rookie form. He ultimately left Pittsburgh after four seasons and signed with the Seattle Seahawks. Unfortunately, he mostly played a backup role, appearing in 13 games and making just three starts while recording 37 tackles and five tackles-for-loss. He landed with the Browns in 2024 and began to revive his career with a 76-tackle campaign under former defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.

Since signing his rookie contract, Devin Bush has appeared in 98 games while making 78 starts. While on the field, the former first-round pick has recorded seven sacks, 524 tackles, 33 tackles-f0r-loss, 15 quarterback hits, and five interceptions.
