Week 1 of the NFL Season is finally here! Here are the Week 1 quarterback rankings for fantasy football to set your lineups.
Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings Week 1
Tier 1: The Big 5
| Rank | Player | Opponent |
| 1 | Lamar Jackson | Buffalo Bills |
| 2 | Josh Allen | Baltimore Ravens |
| 3 | Jayden Daniels | New York Giants |
| 4 | Jalen Hurts | Dallas Cowboys |
| 5 | Joe Burrow | Cleveland Browns |
These five are the best of the best in fantasy football and will be in their tier of their own until they struggle or someone joins them:
- Jackson and Allen battle each other in Sunday Night Football in what should be a great matchup to begin the season.
- Hurts and the Eagles kick off the season on Thursday Night Football.
Tier 2: Low-End QB1s
| Rank | Player | Opponent |
| 6 | Patrick Mahomes | Los Angeles Chargers |
| 7 | Baker Mayfield | Atlanta Falcons |
| 8 | Kyler Murray | New Orleans Saints |
| 9 | Bo Nix | Tennessee Titans |
This tier of quarterbacks is four guys who have high floors but are unlikely to jump into the top five on a consistent basis:
- Mahomes and the Chiefs look to get back on track after losing in the Super Bowl as they play on Friday Night vs the Chargers in Brazil in a pivotal Week 1 Divisional matchup.
- Mayfield, Murray, and Nix all have favorable matchups against defenses and teams that struggled last season.
Fantasy Football Quarterback Season Rankings
Tier 3: Lots of Upside and Potential
| Rank | Player | Opponent |
| 10 | Dak Prescott | Philadelphia Eagles |
| 11 | Drake Maye | Las Vegas Raiders |
| 12 | Justin Fields | Pittsburgh Steelers |
| 13 | Brock Purdy | Seattle Seahawks |
| 14 | Caleb Williams | Minnesota Vikings |
This tier of players will have a mix of top-eight fantasy finishes and finishes outside of the top 15:
- Prescott and the Cowboys should be playing behind early and often against the Eagles on Opening Night of the Season, especially after trading away Micah Parsons.
- Maye looks to make the sophomore leap and starts with a favorable matchup.
- Week 1 revenge game for Fields as he takes on the team that benched him last year, the Steelers.
- Williams has a tough matchup on Monday Night Football against a good Vikings defense.

Tier 4: Superflex Options Only
| Rank | Player | Opponent |
| 15 | Trevor Lawrence | Carolina Panthers |
| 16 | Jared Goff | Green Bay Packers |
| 17 | Jordan Love | Detroit Lions |
| 18 | Bryce Young | Jacksonville Jaguars |
| 19 | C.J. Stroud | Los Angeles Rams |
| 20 | Justin Herbert | Kansas City Chiefs |
| 21 | Joe Flacco | Cincinnati Bengals |
| 22 | Michael Penix Jr. | Tampa Bay Buccaneers |
| 23 | Tua Tagovailoa | Indianapolis Colts |
| 24 | Daniel Jones | Miami Dolphins |
These players should only be started in Superflex leagues, as they are outside the top 14 of quarterback options:
- Lawrence looks to begin a career year with new head coach Liam Coen and wide receiver Travis Hunter.
- Goff and Love battle it out in a big Week 1 NFC North Matchup. These are two good defenses, so temper expectations for these two quarterbacks.
- Young and Stroud have gone in opposite directions in their careers. They both begin Year 3 with big expectations, and both have favorable matchups in Week 1.
- There will not be many weeks where Flacco is a fantasy option, but against the Bengals terrible defense, Flacco is the streaming option of the week. We could be talking about a classic 400-yard game from him come Monday morning.
- Kirk Cousins was not good last year. However, in his two games against the Buccaneers defense, he finished as the QB1 and QB3. Expect Penix and the Falcons to attack them in the same way.
