Trevor Lawrence Fantasy Football Outlook 2025: Can New Head Coach Finally Unlock His Potential?

Trevor Lawrence has not lived up to the hype after being drafted with the number one overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He has only one top ten fantasy finish to his career and had a season-ending injury last year. The Jaguars hit the reset button for 2025, bringing in a new head coach and general manager. What does this mean for him, and what is Trevor Lawrence’s fantasy football outlook in 2025?

Fantasy Football Outlook for Trevor Lawrence

Recent Production

Lawrence only played in ten games last season before getting injured. The Jaguars decided to shut him down for the season as they had nothing to play for down the stretch. Lawrence struggled in those ten games, only throwing for eleven touchdowns but seven interceptions.

Lawrence was the QB23 in his rookie season, broke out as the QB8 in 2022, but has finished as the QB13 and QB27 in the following two years. As the former number one overall pick, Lawrence has much higher expectations than just one top finish to begin his career. Turnovers have been a big problem for him, averaging 13 interceptions in a 17-game season.

2025 Fantasy Outlook

The Jaguars went all in this offseason to rebuild around Lawrence. They hired James Gladstone as their new general manager and Liam Coen as their new head coach. Coen was the offensive coordinator with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was amazing with Baker Mayfield last season, leading him to a career-best season. The Jaguars are hoping Coen can find that same magic in Lawrence this season.

Lawrence has two great wide receivers to throw to in superstar Brian Thomas Jr. and two-way player Travis Hunter. Even if Hunter does not play a full complement of offensive snaps (although he is expected to), he will be an electric playmaker when he is out there. After those two guys, the receiving room gets thin with Dyami Brown and Parker Washington. Tight end Evan Engram is gone, so Lawrence will look to Brenton Strange as his TE1.

Lawrence ADP

According to FantasyPros, Lawrence is being drafted on average as the QB20 in fantasy drafts. On Yahoo, he is being drafted as the QB30, while on all other sites, he is going between the QB20 and QB25. Lawrence being drafted this low shows the depth of the quarterback position this season. He is going around J.J. McCarthy, Drake Maye, Tua Tagovailoa, and Matthew Stafford. Lawrence has the potential to outperform his ADP if Coen can unlock him and the entire Jaguars offense.

Should You Draft or Pass on Trevor Lawrence in Fantasy Football 2025?

I am drafting Lawrence as a late-round backup quarterback in fantasy football this season. Coen will turn this offense around, and Lawrence can have his best season yet. If that happens, Lawrence will easily outperform his ADP, and he could flirt with being a top ten fantasy quarterback. Lawrence is worth a shot, throwing a late-round pick on this year with the expectation that the Jaguars offense will be much improved, led by Lawrence.
