Mike Gesicki Contract

Bengals Expected To Re-Sign Fan Favorite Free Agent

Seven-year veteran tight end Mike Gesicki signed a new three-year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals. Gesicki, a former second-round pick, spent the 2024 season with the Cincinnati Bengals but has also played for the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots.

Mike Gesicki, Cincinnati Bengals, Agree to Contract

After a disappointing season with the New England Patriots, Mike Gesicki signed a one-year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals to try and re-establish his value. That mission was a success, as the tight end had arguably the best season of his career. Starring alongside Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins, the 6′-6″, 245-pound athlete finished the season with 65 receptions for 665 yards, two touchdowns, and a 71.5 PFF grade, the 15th-best mark in the league. Despite his strong play, the Bengals narrowly missed the playoffs with a 9-8 record.

Mike Gesicki originally entered the league as a second-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Selected by the Miami Dolphins, the Penn State product was an athletically gifted but raw prospect who needed time to adjust to the league. After an unremarkable rookie season, Gesicki exploded with 51 receptions for 570 yards and five touchdowns in 2019 under first-year head coach Brian Flores. He proved this wasn’t a one-year fluke in 2020, as he finished the year with 53 receptions for 703 yards and six touchdowns.

Tua Tagovalioa became the full-time starter in 2021, and the tight end responded with a great season. Setting career highs in receptions (73) and yards (780), Gesicki appeared to be bound for stardom. Unfortunately, Miami fired Flores after the season and new head coach Mike McDaniel did not feature the tight end. This schematic change paired with the arrival of star wide receiver Tyreek Hill meant that Gesicki recorded just 32 receptions for 362 yards and five touchdowns in his final year with the Dolphins.

Since signing his rookie contract, Mike Gesicki has appeared in 115 games. While on the field, the Penn State product has recorded 325 receptions for 3,526 yards and 22 touchdowns.
