Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is headed to the Super Bowl for the first time in his 12-year career. Hopkins has helped the Chiefs make history as the first team to play in a third straight Super Bowl after winning it the previous two seasons. Naturally, they would also be the first team to win three straight.
Hall of Famer Deion Sanders offered praise for Hopkins and the Chiefs, and the wideout responded.
Chiefs WR DeAndre Hopkins Sends 1-Word Reaction to Deion Sanders
DeAndre Hopkins Embracing Chiefs’ Success
“I got mad love for my brother @tkelce and I’m proud of all that he’s accomplished and I’m so darn happy for 1 of our games greatest receivers @DeAndreHopkins, Coach Reid & the @Chiefs,” Sanders posted on X on January 27. “Wow God is good.”
“… Glory,” Hopkins responded, quoting Sanders’ post.

The Chiefs wide receiver shared the same “… Glory” message after he arrived from the Tennessee Titans via trade and in his first action in October.
Chiefs Need DeAndre Hopkins to Step Up in Super Bowl
Hopkins had one reception for 11 yards on two targets in the Chiefs’ 32-29 win over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game. He had two receptions for 7 yards on five targets over the final two weeks of the regular season.
Since joining the Chiefs before Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders, Hopkins has recorded more than 37 yards in a game three times.
He has surpassed 60 yards just twice and has not done so since Week 13.
Hopkins had 90 yards on four receptions in that game. But Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes peppered him with nine targets in that game. Hopkins posted a 4-32-0 line on nine looks the next week and has seen no more than six targets in a game since.
In his last postseason appearances – back in 2019 with the Houston Texans caught 15 passes for 208 yards in two games.
If he can replicate that rate of production in the Super Bowl, the Chiefs may emerge victorious.
Patrick Mahomes Embraces Kermit Meme
Like Hopkins, Mahomes is embracing the Chiefs’ success even though it has become all but routine for the KC QB. He also posted about seeing fans in New Orleans – the site of the Super Bowl on February 9 – quoting it with the Kermit The Frog gif often used to mock him.
“Thank you God,” Mahomes posted after the game on January 27.

Mahomes has already etched his name into the annals of history and he is only adding to his spectacular resume.
Never one to lack confidence, his comfort in his own skin shows in the way he remains calm under duress in the highest-leverage situations. Juxtapose how Mahomes operated with Bills QB Josh Allen, whose final sequence will be questioned all offseason.
At any rate, the Chiefs are on the doorstep of history yet again.
They will get a rematch against their opponent from the Super Bowl following the 2022 season in the Philadelphia Eagles.
This time around, the Eagles have the dynamic Saquon Barkley, who will be the toughest non-quarterback the Chiefs have faced this postseason and even during the 2024 regular season.
How well they contain him could be the biggest determining factor in who wins the Super Bowl.
