Haason Reddick Contract

Controversial Pro Bowler Signs Contract With Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Eight-year veteran edge defender Haason Reddick signed a new one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Reddick, a two-time Pro Bowler, spent the 2024 season with the New York Jets but also played for the Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, and Philadelphia Eagles.

Reddick is coming off one of the stranger seasons in recent memory. Starting the offseason with the Philadelphia Eagles, the pass rusher refused to play without an extension. Rather than hand out a long-term deal, Philadelphia traded him to the New York Jets shortly after the start of free agency. New York, however, also didn’t extend him, as the team believed he’d be willing to play under his current deal.

This turned out to not be the case, as the star pass rusher missed the offseason programs and the first seven games of the season while holding out for a new deal. While he never got his contract extension, Haason Reddick did return for the season’s final 10 games. Playing on an underperforming New York Jets team, the edge defender finished the season with one sack, 14 tackles, two tackles-f0r-loss, three quarterback hits, and a 53.5 PFF grade, the 104th-best mark of 118 eligible players.

Haason Reddick originally entered the league as a first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Selected by the Arizona Cardinals, the Temple product took some time to establish himself as a legitimate pass-rushing threat. After three unremarkable seasons, Reddick broke out with a 12.5-sack season in 2020. The Carolina Panthers signed him to a one-year, prove-it deal, and Reddick responded with an 11-sack season.

Following this impressive campaign, the Philadelphia Eagles signed Haason Reddick to a three-year contract. He immediately rewarded this faith, recording 16 sacks in 2022 and 11 sacks in 2023 while making the Pro Bowl in both seasons.

Since signing his rookie contract, Haason Reddick has recorded 59 sacks in 124 games (83 starts).
