Four-year veteran center Lloyd Cushenberry signed a new contract with the Tennessee Titans. Cushenberry, a former third-round pick, spent the entirety of his career with the Denver Broncos.

The 2023 season marked what was easily the best season of Lloyd Cushenberry’s career. Starting all 17 games under first-year head coach Sean Payton, the fourth-year veteran finished the year with a 73.2 PFF grade, the best mark of his career, and the 10th-best grade out of 36 eligible players. However, Cushenberry’s strong play wasn’t enough to guide the Broncos to the playoffs, as the team missed the postseason for yet another season.

Lloyd Cushenberry originally entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Selected by the Denver Broncos, the LSU product immediately earned the starting center job. However, the rookie went through some growing pains, finishing the league with a league-worst 40.5 PFF grade. The Broncos had a similarly difficult season, going 5-11 under then-head coach Vic Fangio.

Despite the rocky start to his career, Lloyd Cushenberry remained the starting center in 2021. Starting and appearing in 16 of a possible 17 games, the interior lineman showed some signs of life, finishing the year with a 64.2 PFF grade, the 21st-best mark out of 39 eligible players. The Broncos themselves had similar improvement, going to 7-10, but still missing the playoffs.

Russell Wilson and Nathaniel Hackett joined the squad in the following offseason, but despite the changes, Cushenberry remained the starting center. However, injuries limited him to just eight games, and the center took a step back from his 2022 level of play. While on the field, Cushenberry finished with a 56.2 PFF grade, the 32nd-best mark out of 36 centers.

Since signing his rookie contract, Lloyd Cushenberry has started and appeared in 57 games. However, the LSU product is still looking for his first playoff appearance.
