Washington Commanders Steal Pro Bowler From Division Rival

Four-year veteran center Tyler Biadasz signed a new contract with the Washington Commanders. Biadasz, a former fourth-round pick, spent the entirety of his career with the Dallas Cowboys.

The 2023 season marked another solid if unspectacular season for Dallas Cowboys homegrown starting center. Starting in 16 of a possible 17 games, Tyler Biadasz finished the final year of his contract with a 69.2 PFF grade, good for the 14th-best mark among 36 eligible players. The Cowboys themselves had a good regular season, going 12-5 and narrowly winning the NFC East. However, their good fortunes came to an end in a crushing playoff loss against the Green Bay Packers.

Tyler Biadasz originally entered the league as a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Selected the same year that franchise legend Travis Frederick retired, the Wisconsin product had the opportunity to take the starting job from Week 1. While he was involved in the offense, he only made four starts while appearing in 12 games.

After a year spent adjusting to NFL life, Biadasz finally earned the starting job in 2021. Starting in all 17 games, the fourth-round pick finished the year with a 65.1 PFF grade, making him the 18th-best guard by that metric. Dallas went 12-5 on the season, winning the NFC East before losing in the playoffs to the San Francisco 49ers.

Tyler Biadasz followed this up with what was arguably the best season of his career. Starting and appearing in 16 games, the Wisconsin product earned the first Pro Bowl selection of his career for his stellar work. In a case of deja vu, the 2022 Dallas Cowboys once again lost in the playoffs to the San Francisco 49ers. The lone silver lining is that they made it out of the Wild Card with a 31-14 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Since signing his rookie contract, Tyler Biadasz has appeared in 61 games while making 53 starts.
