Left guard Jonah Jackson had yet another reliable season during the final year of his contract. Starting and appearing in 12 games, the offensive lineman helped keep Jared Goff upright while opening rushing lanes for David Montgomery and first-round pick Jahmyr Gibbs. Thanks to his efforts, the Lions made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game before falling to the San Francisco 49ers.

Jonah Jackson originally entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Selected by the Detroit Lions, the Ohio State product made an immediate impact for his team, starting all 16 games for his new home. Unfortunately, the Lions themselves had a rough season, going 5-11 while firing head Matt Patricia midway through the year.

Jackson built on his promising campaign and established himself as one of the better guards in the league. Starting in all 16 games, the second-year pro proved himself to be a fixture on first-year Dan Campbell’s offensive line and earned his first Pro Bowl nomination. However, this was a transition year for the Lions, as the team finished with an underwhelming 3-13-1 record.

The offensive lineman followed this up by starting and appearing in 13 games during the 2022 season. Finishing the season with a 66.1 PFF grade, the left guard helped the Lions reach a 9-8 record but narrowly missed the postseason.

Since signing his rookie contract, Jonah Jackson has started and appeared in 57 games. While on the field, the Ohio State product has witnessed two winning seasons and one deep postseason run. He also made one Pro Bowl appearance during his four seasons in the league.
