It’s less than a month until the fantasy football playoffs kick-off. It’s crunch time. We’re in the danger zone. Now is the time to make those championship-winning moves, and there are some intriguing options on the fantasy football waiver wire in Week 11.
Waiver Wire Week 11 – Ty Chandler, Noah Brown and More
Tyson Chandler, RB Minnesota Vikings
Once the news broke that Alexander Mattison had a concussion, Chandler became the easy option on the waiver wire in Week 11. According to Vikings Beat Writer Alex Snodgrass, Chandler might already have been the best running back on the roster anyway. Neither running back set the world on fire Sunday, but Chandler moves with a little more juice than Mattison. It could just be a one-week rental, but Chandler gets a matchup against a bottom-five run defense in Denver, then if he stays the starter he gets the Bears, a bye week, and then Las Vegas—three weeks as a must-start option. Noah Brown, WR Houston Texans
C.J. Stroud is shattering records. The most passing yards for a rookie is 4,374 and passing touchdowns is 31. Stroud is on pace for almost 5,000 yards and 28 touchdowns. With that in mind, even if Nico Collins returns from injury Week 11 Brown is a viable FLEX option. He’s built a rapport with Stroud, continues to grow in his role in the offense and has a laughable 325 yards in the last two weeks (those are Tyreek Hill level numbers). Noah Brown is available in 75% of leagues on ESPN.
Josh Dobbs, QB Minnesota Vikings
Dobbs is a top ten fantasy quarterback. That’s the start and end of the discussion. For more details, his rushing upside, weapons around him and coaching scheme put him in a situation to put up insane numbers. He was the QB3 (before Monday Night Football) and he doesn’t even have a full strength T.J. Hockenson or Justin Jefferson back yet. There’s plenty of reasons to pull for the guy, and he’s a fantasy points goldmine until further notice. Josh Dobbs is available in over 60% of leagues on ESPN.
Michael Mayer, TE Las Vegas Raiders
At one time he was the top dog in the 2023 Tight End class. The hot starts for Kincaid, Musgrave and LaPorta put some cold water on his emergence. But the coaching change set the team on fire, and now he gets a matchup with the Miami Dolphins who are allowing 14.3 fantasy points per game to the tight end position. He’s not Travis Kelce, but he’ll get the job done Week 11. Michael Mayer is available in over 95% of leagues on ESPN.
Detroit Lions D/ST
The Lions play the Chicago Bears. The same Bears that give up over 14 points per game to opposing D/STs. As the Detroit Lions are ascending into one of the powerhouse teams in the NFL, they need to dominate games like this one. Whether it’s Justin Fields or Tyson Bagent, they’re being thrown into the Lions den. The Lions D/ST is available in over 85% of leagues on ESPN.
Honorable Mentions
Quentin Johnston finally scored a touchdown! His target numbers are deflated due to a number of defensive penalties on plays where he was targeted, but he could be a stash for later in the season.
The Dolphins D/ST plays a Raiders team on a two win streak. That win streak will end, and the team will be in for a rude awakening.
Keaton Mitchell is the RB17 before MNF on only five touches in Week 10. If the Ravens get him involved, he’s a league winner.
