Amon-Ra St. Brown 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook

The hype of Amon-Ra St. Brown is in full force as he looks to be near the top of all ADP among wide receivers, but when should he be drafted?
Amon-Ra St. Brown Fantasy 2023

A team to keep an eye on is the Detroit Lions, thanks in huge part to the young and dynamic wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. The Sun God shook the 2022 fantasy landscape to its core and is in line to have an even bigger season.

All seems to be going well for the Lions who have a decent shot of winning the NFC North. It’s been years in the making and the exciting offense just got a bit more fun.

All value leads St. Brown to his highest ADP in his career, but where should fantasy owners draft him?

Amon-Ra St. Brown 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook

A Wide Receiver to Draft Early

Last season, St. Brown was the talk of fantasy. A wide receiver which many owners drafted no earlier than the fifth round is now a thing of the past.

St. Brown comes into the 2023 fantasy season with an ADP between 19-21 overall. Expect to use some early picks and adjust strategy if planning on rostering the young receiver.

With some question marks regarding the backfield the Lions may rely heavily on their passing game. St. Brown automatically becomes the top target especially with T.J. Hockenson gone to the Minnesota Vikings.

Last season, even with plenty of mouths to feed, St. Brown finished with 146 targets which was the eighth most in the league among wide receivers. Those targets led to him finishing as WR7 in standard PPR formats (267.6 points).

It is entirely possible that St. Brown finishes with over 1000 receiving yards once again, although managers would like to see the touchdown numbers go up. St. Brown finished 2022 with six touchdowns and totals 11 for his career.

Entering 2023, St. Brown is projected to finish at WR8, one spot below his 2022 finish.

Is a Matthew Berry Endorsement Enough to Turn the Tide?

Of all the fantasy gurus, Matthew Berry tops most lists for any seasoned fantasy football veteran. In Berry’s latest “Ride or Die” he of course went with The Sun God himself.

An accredited source who picked Jalen Hurts as his ride or die in 2022, perhaps it is wise to follow in his footsteps once again. Of course, this is always up for interpretation.

In 10 team formats, wide receivers always run deep. While landing St. Brown as WR1 by giving up a second or third round pick may not be in the cards, there’s no shame in waiting for guys like Jaylen Waddle, Tee Higgins or even Chris Olave.

Wait even longer and the luck can find owners drafting a dark horse like Calvin Ridley. Will it be wise to load up on wide receivers with the no running back strategy or go back to the roots of fantasy football value with a traditional draft?

Will The Sun God Be Enough to Earn a Championship?

A young and new exciting receiver in a pass happy league. What more is there to ask for?

In pretty much any format, whether it’s standard, keepers or dynasty, St. Brown puts owners in line to win championships. If it isn’t this season, next season will be just the same.

Plan accordingly around St. Brown and of course always have a backup plan. How early will St. Brown be taken in your league?
