Dalton Schultz had a mediocre year due to a knee injury in the Week 2 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Schultz was inconsistent all season but was one of Prescott’s targets in a pinch. The Dallas tight end racked up 577 yards on 57 catches during the 2022-2023 campaign. He doubled down his 577 yards with five scores, including three more in the playoffs.

Schultz’s best games were scattered throughout the season. He reached over 50 yards receiving against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, and against the Buccaneers in the playoffs. Schultz scored against the Packers and twice against the New York Giants and Titans. He also scored against the San Francisco 49ers in the playoffs as well as two more times against the Buccaneers in the Wildcard round.

Schultz has been a breakout candidate since bursting onto the scene in 2020 with 615 yards and four scores. He got his opportunity after an injury to Blake Jarwin early in the season. Schultz took advantage of this opportunity with a career season. Schultz had his best season in 2021. He racked up 808 yards on 78 receptions with eight scores.

Schultz attended Stanford University from 2015-2017. He played behind Austin Hooper and redshirted as a freshman. Schultz was used primarily as a blocker opening running lanes for running backs Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Love. The future star tight end was habitually under-utilized all three years at Stanford before declaring for the NFL draft. Even with his mediocre usage in college, Schultz was voted to the All Pac-12 First Team as a tight end. He finished with 555 yards, five scores, and 55 receptions in three years for Stanford before entering the NFL draft.
