Longtime NFL veteran running back Kenyan Drake signed a new contract with the Baltimore Ravens. Drake, a former third-round pick, spent the 2021 season with the Las Vegas Raiders but has also played for the Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals.

Kenyan Drake spent the majority of the 2021 season as the primary backup to running back Josh Jacobs. Appearing in 12 games while making two starts, the Alabama product finished the season with 63 carries for 254 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 30 receptions for an additional 291 yards and a touchdown on 40 targets. Drake spent the vast majority of the 2022 offseason with the Raiders, but ultimately didn’t make the final roster.

Drake originally entered the NFL as a third-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Selected by the Miami Dolphins, the Alabama product struggled to see the field as a rookie. Appearing in all 16 games for the playoff-bound Dolphins, Drake finished his first season at the professional level with 33 carries for 179 yards and two touchdowns to go along with nine receptions for 46 yards.

Drake earned a larger role in his second year with the club. Appearing in all 16 games while making six starts, Drake finished the season with 133 carries for 644 yards and three touchdowns to go along with 32 receptions for 239 yards and one touchdown on 48 targets. Drake played a similar role in 2018 and the first half of 2019 before arriving in Arizona at the 2019 trade deadline.

Taking over for an injured David Johnson, Kenyan Drake made an immediate impact in the desert. Appearing in eight games, the newest member of the Arizona Cardinals finished the season with 123 carries for 643 yards and eight touchdowns while adding an additional 28 receptions for 171 yards. Following this impressive campaign, the Cardinals used the transition tag to ensure he’d stick around for 2020.

Unfortunately, Drake wasn’t able to replicate this success over a full season. Appearing in 15 games, Drake finished the 2020 campaign with 955 rushing yards, 137 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
