The Los Angeles Rams have a roster capable of winning the Super Bowl, but after last season’s outstanding performances, several of the team’s stars may have a challenge to improve on those numbers.
Players like Myles Garrett and Matthew Stafford are both coming off their best seasons. While the expectation is a Super Bowl, if the Rams play at the same level they did last season, they can win it all.
Predicting Every Los Angeles Rams Star’s Stats This Season
Matthew Stafford
4,200 passing yards and 35 touchdowns
Stafford is coming off his best season as the reigning NFL MVP. While he had his best year, it’s reasonable to expect a slight regression because of his age. At 38, Stafford should still throw for around 4,000 yards, but the number of touchdowns will likely decrease. Even with a slight decline in stats, he should remain one of the NFL’s most dangerous passers and could still lead the Rams to another Super Bowl victory.
Kyren Williams
Over 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns
Entering his fifth season, Kyren Williams will be a big part of the offense. As the main running back, Williams has rushed for more than 1,200 yards in each of the past two seasons. This year should be no different. Another year of excellence should also give the Rams’ top running back a contract extension.
Williams will remain a crucial part of the offense, especially with the heavy usage of the 13 personnel-based offense. The three-tight-end set should allow Williams to be at his best this season.
Puka Nacua
130 receptions, 1,850 yards, and 15 touchdowns
The Rams’ top pass catcher had his best season last year. Nacua led the league in receptions and yards per game, showcasing his ability to be the No. 1 target. Nacua is widely regarded as one of the NFL’s top five receivers, and after Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njiba took the title last season, he will now have a chance to take the title this year.
Even though the talented receiver got into trouble this offseason, Nacua is focused on having a good season.
“I’m doing great. It’s been a busy offseason, but it’s been good,” Nacua said Thursday, speaking to reporters for the first time this offseason. “Nice to be back in football and be around a bunch of the guys.”
Davante Adams
800 yards and 13 touchdowns
Devastated by last season’s NFC championship loss, Adams is poised to give his best. Last season, Adams was the league’s best red zone threat. He finished with 14 touchdowns and only 789 yards.
In the offseason, head coach Rams Sean McVay confirmed Adams was in trade talks with AJ Brown. Still a Ram, Adams can contribute to a Super Bowl and stamp his career with something he’s longed to accomplish.
Trent McDuffie
32 receptions allowed, 350 yards allowed, and three touchdowns allowed
Trent McDuffie’s best qualities cannot be measured by stats. He is poised to be the best cornerback this season, especially since he is back home in Los Angeles. Through 60 targets, McDuffie only allowed 38 receptions, 365 yards, and four touchdowns.
This offseason, McDuffie signed a four-year, $124 million deal with $100 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid cornerback of all time. He will undoubtedly be a difference maker in the secondary this season for the Rams.
Myles Garrett
20 sacks and 95 pressures
Myles Garrett is coming off one of the best pass-rusher seasons ever. Garrett set the new sack record for most sacks in a season with 23. While this season he won’t set the sacks record again, he will be one of the NFL’s most impactful defenders.
Last season, Garrett finished with 84 pressures. While he’s unlikely to finish with the same number of sacks, he should have an even greater impact than before. After spending his entire career in Cleveland, Garrett never got a chance to compete for a Super Bowl. This will be the first season of his career in which he will be playing for something bigger than stats – a Super Bowl championship. His contribution to the team will go beyond the stats. Garrett could be the most important player on the roster this season, just like Aaron Donald when the Rams won the Super Bowl in 2021.
