Dak Prescott quickly made a name for himself as one of the elite players in the NFL. He has also become a household name in fantasy football over the past several seasons. Prescott finished last season as the seventh-ranked quarterback in fantasy football, despite some uneven performances. Both Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys are hoping for another huge season and success in the NFC East and a massive season from the veteran quarterback would make fantasy owners happy returning on investment. Here are their odds to win the Super Bowl this season. This piece breaks down the outlook for Dak Prescott in fantasy football in 2022.
2022 Fantasy Football Outlook: Dak Prescott
2021 Season Recap
Prescott was phenomenal following his season-ending injury in 2020. During Week 5, Logan Paul dragged Prescott to the ground outside of the pocket which led to Prescott suffering an open dislocation and ankle fracture. Many had concerns regarding Prescott’s future mobility and down-field passing considering his poor ankle integrity.

But Prescott quickly announced himself as one of the elite fantasy football assets of 2021 with 403 passing yards and three passing touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on opening night. But following that Week 1 performance, the season was a bit up and down as Prescott struggled against the Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and the New Orleans Saints. Prescott also let fantasy owners down in Week 15, commonly the start of fantasy football playoffs, with only 217 passing yards and one touchdown against the New York Giants.
One of the limited gripes of fantasy owners was Prescott’s lack of consistency in 2021. There were several prime matchups that did not yield big fantasy numbers. If Prescott wants to lead the quarterback position in fantasy production and the Cowboys on a deep run in the postseason, he will have to replace these fantasy stinkers with more consistent play. Both fantasy owners and the Dallas Cowboys would benefit from improved quarterback play from Prescott.

2022 Projection
Prescott could be in for a difficult season. The Cowboys have lost essential players and key pieces on both the offensive line and at the wide receiver position. Dallas lost La’el Collins and Connor Williams to free agency this off-season. There was bad blood forming between Dallas and Williams considering his poor play and propensity for holding penalties.
Despite Williams’ underwhelming play, he was still an essential piece for Dallas. It will not be easy to replace Williams with a current second-string player or a rookie, but the Cowboys drafted Tyler Smith out of Tulsa University in the first round to provide some much-needed help and stability to the offensive line. Prescott’s play and health will largely depend on the offensive line’s ability to run block, which will open up play-action, and pass blocking to keep Prescott off his back.
Here are the Cowboys most difficult games this season.
Prescott will also have to deal with the departure of Amari Cooper who was traded to the Cleveland Browns. Cooper was the alpha wide receiver in Dallas for the past several seasons. Prescott relied heavily on Cooper as his primary target. Cooper registered 1,000-yard seasons in 2018, 2019, and 2020 with 27 total touchdowns while he was in Big D.
Prescott will have to lean on his teammates in order to secure his position as a top fantasy football quarterback in 2022. Prescott will rely heavily on the newly acquired Smith and the offensive line, as well as CeeDee Lamb’s development into the alpha wide receiver in the Cowboys explosive offense. With great offensive line play and a big year from Lamb, Prescott could be right back on top of the fantasy football world.

2022 Average Draft Position
Early on Prescott’s ADP is eighth out of all quarterbacks, which seems to be right for Prescott as he is being drafted above Aaron Rodgers, Joe Burrow, and Deshaun Watson. One of the biggest surprises on ADP boards includes Jalen Hurts, Tom Brady, and Lamar Jackson being taken ahead of Prescott.
Hurts has been a great fantasy football quarterback but has yet to solidify his position with the Philadelphia Eagles. While he currently does not have any true contenders for his position, he is not regarded as an elite NFL quarterback. But he has a great chance to prove himself this season. It is surprising that Lamar Jackson is ahead of Prescott due to injury issues. Jackson was one of the most dynamic players last season when healthy, but his explosiveness diminished due to his injuries.
Tom Brady currently sits seventh out of all quarterbacks. Brady has been an elite quarterback every year in his seemingly eternal career. After retiring and then quickly coming out of retirement, Father Time might finally be catching up to Brady which would allow players like Prescott to close the gap.

Prescott is being taken eighth out of all of the quarterbacks and 75th overall. This is a very appropriate position for Prescott given the question marks at wide receiver and on the offensive line. With big changes for those two units, Prescott could easily slip out of the top 10 quarterbacks and into bust range. However, given the productivity he has shown, at his current ADP, he could also easily be a top three quarterback and a potential league winner for fantasy football owners.
