Odds-On Favorite

As of May the odds-on favorite to win Super Bowl LVII is the Buffalo Bills. Josh Allen and company have improved each season making deeper and deeper runs in the playoffs. Allen is playing some of the best football in the NFL and the addition of Stefon Diggs prior to the 2020 season rounds out their dangerous offense. Diggs and his elite talent give Allen the alpha wide receiver required to win on any down.

The Bills defense has been stingy over the past few seasons. With a balanced offense and defense, Buffalo should make another deep run into the playoffs. If the Bills can overcome the loss of Brian Daboll, they will be a serious contender to win their first Super Bowl in franchise history.

Betting Favorites

The Kansas City Chiefs have the third-best odds to win the Super Bowl for the 2022-2023 season. The Chiefs lost Tyreek Hill in the off-season to the Miami Dolphins but were able to acquire other downfield targets including Marquez Valdes-Scantling. The most important off-season feat was keeping their offensive line together to fuel the run game and protect Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs gave up ground in the AFC West after Russell Wilson and Davante Adams both joined the conference, but with Mahomes at the helm, Kansas City will always have a good chance to represent the AFC West in the playoffs.

Dallas Cowboys Odds

Dallas has the eighth-best odds to win the Super Bowl in 2023. The Cowboys are behind Buffalo, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, the Super Bowl-defending Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and the Denver Broncos with newly acquired Russell Wilson. The Cowboys had several off-season departures but will maintain a large chunk of their offense.

The Cowboys lost La’el Collins and Connor Williams from the offensive line. These are two big blows to the run game and pass protection as the Cowboys will now look to newly drafted Tyler Smith, Terence Steele, and Connor McGovern to plug the holes on the offensive line.

Another huge departure is Amari Cooper. The star wideout was traded to the Cleveland Browns in addition to mid-round draft pick swaps. The Cowboys had to move on from Cooper due to salary cap issues. CeeDee Lamb and recently extended Michael Gallup have their work cut out for them to replace 3,893 yards and 27 touchdowns from Cooper as a Cowboy.

Biggest Drop

The Seattle Seahawks fell from an annual contender to the bottom eight regarding Super Bowl odds. The departure of Russell Wilson drastically hurt their odds to compete in the playoffs. The Seahawks are looking to Drew Lock or Geno Smith with Wilson in Denver. Another team plummeting to the bottom 10 is the Pittsburgh Steelers. Just a few years after dominating in the regular season. Pittsburgh finishes 9-8-1. They were able to make the playoffs finishing second in the AFC North only to lose in a blowout to the Chiefs 42-21. In 2022 Ben Roethlisberger announced his retirement ending a historic career. The Steelers now look to Mitchell Trubisky to lead the Iron Curtain in 2022.

Worst Odds to Win Super Bowl LVII

The Houston Texans are dead last to win the Super Bowl in 2023. Houston finished last season 4-13 and is in the middle of a rebuild. After losing J.J. Watt and DeAndre Hopkins over the last few seasons, the Texans are left without any substantial firepower. The Texans are leaning on Davis Mills to lead them against the AFC South if they want to make a playoff run in 2022. Houston drafted well and will get their young stars substantial playing time early on. These young stars include Derek Stingley Jr, Kenyon Green, Jalen Pitre, John Metchie III, and Christian Harris.

How Dallas Can Compete for a Super Bowl

The Cowboys have decent odds to win Super Bowl LVII in 2023. Health and consistency will be very important for Dallas. With the entire NFC East closing the gap, Dallas will have to take advantage of every winnable game during this upcoming season.

Another key to success is player development. Tyler Smith will be in a preseason battle with Connor McGovern and Terence Steele in the last starting position on the offensive line. Michael Gallup is another name that needs to develop and produce with the departure of Amari Cooper. Finally, Dallas will deploy Sam Williams immediately to replace Randy Gregory. For Dallas to excel they will have to have great play from Tyler Smith, Gallup, and Williams.

Consistency from their current stars will spell success for Dallas. If Dak Prescott is in MVP form the Cowboys can turn any game into a shootout. With household names like Lamb, Ezekiel Elliott, and Prescott Dallas will have a chance to compete in every game this season.
