Allen Lazard Receives Second Round Tender
The 26-year-old wide receiver out of Des Moines, Iowa had an excellent four-year career with the Cyclones. Lazard played a prominent role as a Freshman, catching 45 passes for 593 yards and three touchdowns. His production steadily improved throughout his career, posting 1018 receiving yards with seven touchdowns as a junior with a career-high 14.8 yards per reception. Finally, as a senior, Lazard had a career-high 10 touchdowns with 71 catches for 941 yards. Despite this highly productive college career, there were various questions about Lazard as he entered the 2018 NFL Draft. First, with his 4.55 40-yard dash, there were questions about his speed and agility as he was primarily a jump-ball receiver. There were also concerns with drops as Lazard struggled with them during the senior bowl, which also impacted his draft stock. Lazard ultimately went undrafted and landed with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
After not sticking with the Jaguars, Lazard signed with the Green Bay Packers. As a rookie, Lazard played primarily on special teams, catching just one pass for seven yards. However, his role grew on offense as his career progressed. Over his next two seasons, Lazard caught 68 passes for 928 yards and six touchdowns (combined). Although Lazard dropped five passes in 2020, he offered a steady hand in the run game as Matt LaFleur called him an “enforcer” in the run game. He was graded as the best run-blocking wide receiver from 2019 to 2020.
Among 108 WRs, Allen Lazard ranks as the highest graded (85.8) run blocker since 2019.

Finally, in 2021, Lazard had his best season to date. He caught 40 passes for 513 yards, including five catches over 20 yards downfield in just 10 attempts. Lazard also posted a career-high eight touchdowns in 2021.
