The NFL Draft is easily the biggest event in the offseason, and the league office is using the occasion to bring awareness to several great organizations working to make the world a better place. One of the ways the league will do this is by allowing representatives of various charities and non-profits to read out some of their favorite teams’ NFL Draft picks. The Buffalo Bills are one of many teams taking part in this during the three-day event, as Cass Weiss of the American Heart Association will announce a Bills draft pick on Day 3 of the NFL Draft.
Cass Weiss, American Heart Association Representative, To Announce Buffalo Bills Day 3 Draft Pick
According to an official press release from the NFL, Cass Weiss is a representative for the American Heart Association and an NFL PLAY 60 teacher. For those unaware, NFL PLAY 60 is a health campaign launched by the NFL that encourages children across the country to perform some type of physical activity for at least 60 minutes per day. On top of that, Weiss is also a physical education teacher for the Berea City School District in Ohio.
The NFL’s press release tells us that Weiss will announce a pick on Day 3 of the NFL Draft, but they didn’t specify which one. The third day of the draft is when Rounds 4-7 happen, and the Bills currently have four selections in the final four rounds. Of course, Buffalo could trade any of those picks, which is probably why the NFL didn’t announce a specific time for Weiss to take the stage.
The Buffalo Bills will not be the only AFC East team with a guest announcer, as the New England Patriots will have Don Cox of Food Insecurity read their first-round pick and the New York Jets will have Jessica Felix of the New York Jets and Nike New Jersey High School Girls Flag Football League announce one of their Day 3 picks.
