12-year NFL veteran wide receiver Vincent Jackson was reportedly found dead at the Homewood Suites hotel in Brandon, Florida. As of this posting, the Hillsborough Sherriff’s office is still investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, and any further speculation as to the causes would be irresponsible. Jackson was only 38 years old.

Vincent Jackson, 38, Found Dead
As previously mentioned, the facts surrounding Jackson’s death are still not available to the public. For now, all we know is that Jackson was found dead in the Homewood Suites Hotel on February 15th, 2021. The news of the Jackson’s passing originally broke at around 4:30 PM, Eastern time, and this article will be updated as more information comes to light.
Jackson is best known for his 12-year career in the National Football League. Originally drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the 2005 NFL Draft, Jackson didn’t do much of anything during his first year in the league. Appearing in eight games, the Northern Colorado product recorded just three receptions for 59 yards on eight targets. However, he didn’t let his slow start derail his career. In 2006, Jackson recorded 27 receptions for 453 yards and six touchdowns on 56 targets. He continued to improve in 2007, finishing the season with 41 receptions for 623 yards and three touchdowns.
The former second-round pick took his game to the next level in 2008. Starting all 16 games, Jackson recorded 59 receptions for 1,098 yards and seven touchdowns. While he didn’t make the Pro Bowl, this breakout season was a sign of things to come. Over the next four seasons, Jackson recorded 214 receptions for 3,905 yards and 29 touchdowns en route to making three trips to the Pro Bowl. The only season where he didn’t earn the honor came in 2010, when injuries limited him to just five games.
Overall, Jackson spent seven seasons with the San Diego Chargers and another five with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During his time on the field, Jackson recorded 540 receptions for 9,080 yards and 57 touchdowns.
