Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans suffered a nasty-looking injury against the Atlanta Falcons. Fortunately for the Buccaneers, head coach Bruce Arians says that he doesn’t believe the wide receiver suffered “any serious damage”. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hold the five seed in the NFC and will play the yet-undetermined winner of the NFC East.
As of this posting, it is still unclear if Evans will be ready to play next week.

NFL News: Mike Evans Suffers Injury, No Serious Damage
Evans initially suffered his injury late in the first quarter of Sunday’s matchup. Just plays after hitting the 1,000-yard mark, quarterback Tom Brady looked for his wide-open star in the endzone. However, Evans slipped trying to plant his feet, causing the aforementioned injury. The superstar tried to get up on his own but ultimately needed assistance to make it to the sideline.
This injury comes at an unfortunate time, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally started to hit their stride. After an inconsistent start to the season, Evans had recorded at least 56 yards or a touchdown in eight consecutive games while establishing himself as the true top option in this passing attack.
While this injury obviously has a negative effect on Tampa Bay, their overall depth at the wide receiver position means they should still stand a chance in the postseason. Chris Godwin is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, and Antonio Brown is starting to look something like his old self. Additionally, Scotty Miller and Tyler Johson have both had their moments throughout the season. With Tom Brady still playing great football, this offense should still be dangerous.
Mike Evans initially joined the NFL as a first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Evans began his career by hauling in 68 receptions for 1,051 yards and a staggering 12 touchdowns. He did all this despite catching passes from the underwhelming duo of Josh McCown and Mike Glennon. Evans followed that up with six more 1,000-yard seasons, catching passes from Jameis Winston, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Tom Brady. To date, Evans has earned three Pro Bowl selections in his seven-year career.
