Aaron Rodgers Signs Contract With Pittsburgh Steelers

Aaron Rodgers is back for one more season, as the quarterback recently signed a one-year, $25 million contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rodgers, a four-time NFL MVP and one-time Super Bowl champion, spent the 2025 season with the Steelers but previously played for the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets.

Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Agree to New Contract

Rodgers is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, and the Steelers are running it back with the NFL legend. Signed to a one-year deal in the previous offseason, the quarterback started and appeared in 16 games while completing 65.7% of his passes for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. With his help, the Steelers won the AFC North and made the playoffs, but lost in the Wild Card round to C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans. Following the loss, the Steelers parted ways with head coach Mike Tomlin and brought in Mike McCarthy.

McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers, of course, spent a sizable portion of their careers together with the Green Bay Packers. Working in unison, the two won Super Bowl XLV against the Steelers in 2011 and were one of the league’s top teams for most of their seasons together. Rodgers won two of his four MVPs with McCarthy and made seven Pro Bowls with the coach.

Now entering his age-43 season, Aaron Rodgers has publicly said that this will be his last year in the league. When he hangs up the cleats for good, he’ll go down as one of the greatest all-around players in the history of the league. Since entering the NFL as a first-round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, Aaron Rodgers has gone 163-93-1 while completing 65.1% of his passes for 66,274 yards, 527 touchdowns, and 123 interceptions. His 1.4% interception rate is the best in NFL history, and his four MVPs are second-most behind Peyton Manning.
