Travis Kelce Retirement

Travis Kelce Hints At Retirement Decision In Podcast Appearance

Legendary tight end Travis Kelce is approaching the end of his career, and nobody knows if he’ll officially walk off into retirement or suit up for one last run in 2026. Originally a third-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati product missed the vast majority of his rookie season with an injury but bounced back to become one of the league’s all-time greats at the tight end position.

Making 11 Pro Bowls while winning three Super Bowls and earning First-Team All-Pro honors on four separate occasions, Kelce has recorded 1,080 receptions for 13,002 yards and 82 touchdowns throughout his 13-year career. While he’s not the unstoppable force he once was, he remains a reliable weapon and one of the game’s better tight ends. Last year, Kelce finished the season with 76 receptions for 851 yards and five touchdowns on 108 targets.

Now entering his age-37 season, the tight end is near the end of his playing days and already has his post-NFL career in motion with his successful New Heights podcast. Oh, and he’s also engaged to pop superstar Taylor Swift. While Travis Kelce has yet to officially announce a retirement decision, he did drop a hint at his future during a recent appearance on the Not Gonna Lie podcast.

The topic of Kelce’s future arose as he and his sister-in-law discussed Kansas City’s remarkable run of success.

“It’s been so nuts man, it’s been nuts,” Kelce said. “Obviously, when you’re in it, it all happens so fast. So being able to take that step back this year, I don’t know, I’m still proud of the work that we’ve done. Who knows if we can keep that thing going?”

Kyle Kelce (Travis’s sister-in-law) then said, “I think it’s a nice break to run it back next year.” To this, Kelce responded by just saying “Ooooooooo.”

As mentioned above, Travis Kelce is still a good football player, but Father Time is undefeated. Even if he can still play at a high level, it’s anyone’s guess if his body can survive another grueling 17-game season.
