Green Bay Packers edge defender Micah Parsons and Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens never played a regular season game together, but that didn’t stop the All-Pro edge rusher from pursuing the impending free agent. It was a wild offseason for the Dallas Cowboys, as the team acquired Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers and shipped out Parsons just weeks before the start of the regular season. These moves had mixed results, as Pickens dominated in Dallas while Parsons had a fantastic debut season with Green Bay before tearing his Achilles.
Both players were at the Pro Bowl last week, and Micah Parsons spoke about trying to recruit George Pickens as a free agent. The former first-round pick recently spoke about the experience on the Up & Adams podcast.
Micah Parson Recruited George Pickens to Packers; Free Agent Could Sign Elsewhere
George Pickens is a great player, and it’s easy to see why Micah Parsons would try and recruit the impending free agent. However, Parsons is not the General Manager, and it’s hard to imagine the front office spending big on the former second-round pick.
For one, the Packers already have an impressive group of young wide receivers. While they don’t have an elite WR1 like Pickens, they have several players capable of getting open and creating easy throws for Jordan Love. Additionally, historically speaking, Green Bay does not spend big on external free agents like Pickens. Exceptions to the rule do exist, but it’s far more likely Pickens signs with one of the following organizations.

New England Patriots
The New England Patriots made it to the Super Bowl, proving that they are well ahead of schedule in their rebuild. Head coach Mike Vrabel turned this team around, and Drake Maye won’t receive his inevitable massive extension for a few more seasons. The time is now to go all-in and load up on talent, and George Pickens is one of the most gifted free agents out there.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers have some work to do if they want to win a playoff game for the first time in the Justin Herbert Era. Fortunately, they have over $83.5 million in cap space, so they can address most of their needs. While the offensive line is far and away the biggest concern, this team should also add a talented pass-catcher to the arsenal. Ladd McConkey is a fine player, but Keenan Allen is old, and Quentin Johnston is nothing more than a replacement-level player. George Pickens will give Justin Herbert a legitimate WR1, which should help him win arguably the game’s toughest division.
Baltimore Ravens
It’s a new era in Baltimore, as the Ravens have a first-year head coach for the first time in almost two decades. Jesse Minter will try to take this team to the promised land, but he could use some more help at the wide receiver position. Zay Flowers has proven himself to be a solid starter, but the rest of the depth chart needs some work. George Pickens may not come cheap, but he would give this team one of the better wide receiver duos in the league. Seeing how close the Ravens have come to the Super Bowl in years past, Pickens might just be the missing piece this team desperately needs.
