Report: Frontrunner Emerges For Raiders Head Coaching Job

The Las Vegas Raiders are still looking for their next head coach, but reports indicate they’re close to landing their man. After firing Antonio Pierce prior to the 2025 season, the team brought in the aging Pete Carroll in hopes of providing some stability to the organization. That didn’t work, as the former Super Bowl champion guided the team to a league-worst 3-14 record and the first-overall pick.

Now looking to the future once again, reports across the league indicate that the Raiders are eyeing a much younger option as their next head coach. In a recent tweet, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said that, barring something unexpected, Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klink Kubiak will become the team’s next head coach.

REPORT: Klint Kubiak the Heavy Favorite to Become Raiders Next Head Coach

It’s easy to see why Kubiak is in such high demand, even when so many veteran head coaches were available. With his help, Seattle made it to the Super Bowl, and quarterback Sam Darnold proved to be one of the league’s most efficient passers. While this roster has plenty of talent, there’s a reason this roster never sniffed this level of success before Kubiak joined the squad.

This isn’t Kubiak’s first taste of success, either. The offensive guru spent the 2024 season as the New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator. While an absurd amount of injuries ultimately proved too much to overcome, Kubiak had veteran Derek Carr playing the best football of his career early in the year. He also got some production out of then-rookie fifth-round pick Spencer Rattler.

Obviously, nothing is official as of this posting, but assuming Klint Kubiak becomes the Raiders next head coach, he will likely have a large say in what happens with the first-overall pick. Chances are, he’ll be responsible for developing Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza into a franchise quarterback.
