Projected $85 Million Free Agent Could Join These Four Teams

After having a prolific 2025 season, the impending Indianapolis Colts free agent, Alec Pierce, could dash elsewhere and join a few potential suitors during the offseason. According to Bleacher Report, he’s a top-10 free agent, and while he isn’t a No. 1 receiver, Pierce is going to demand a contract similar to that of Dallas Cowboys free agent George Pickens. To no surprise, the Colts might have to give him for what he’s worth, but it might be difficult to budge since they could be forced to cut Michael Pittman Jr. in March. Indianapolis already traded Adonai Mitchell to the New York Jets, and if Pittman is gone, they would be down between Pierce and Josh Downs.

Projected $85 Million Free Agent Alec Pierce Could Join These Four Teams

The Colts have receivers, but none of them are proven to move the chains, and the team once had several pass-catchers to lean on. If Pierce wants to return to the team in 2026, he might have to ask for less than what’s expected. However, the young receiver positioned himself for this moment, hauling in 47 receptions for 1,003 receiving yards and six touchdowns while averaging 21.3 yards. Pierce could be the second-highest-paid pass-catcher if he bolts for other teams that are willing to dish out a contract he wants.

It’s going to be an interesting offseason for him and the Colts either way. With Daniel Jones still recovering from injury and becoming a pending free agent, it might be better for Pierce to establish his talents elsewhere with an effective, consistent signal-caller. Expect this free agent to get a lot of attention if the Colts don’t act quickly, and here are the teams that could sign him.

Potential Suitors

Los Angeles Chargers

While the Los Angeles Chargers might be forming one of the best ground games led by Omarion Hampton, the team never found an electric speedster to help Ladd McConkey. The good news is that Keenan Allen is playing his best football, but he’s getting older and will become a free agent once the playoffs are over. If he decides to retire, then it has to be time for Jim Harbaugh to put the nostalgia on the shelf and sign someone like Pierce. The Chargers would arguably have one of the better receiver duos between McConkey and Pierce if the two form together.

Justin Herbert could use another set of nice hands, as Quentin Johnston hasn’t done enough explosion to convince this offense that he’s a long-term threat. If Pierce joins the Chargers, expect this team to return to the AFC Championship Game sooner rather than later.

Washington Commanders

Here’s another enticing destination for Pierce. Despite parting ways with Kliff Kinsbury, the team still has Jayden Daniels and Terry McLaurin as its future in this offense. If Deebo Samuel leaves, the Commanders should try to sign Pierce to add some reinforcements alongside Luke McCaffrey.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are expected to overhaul the team, and the recent Rashee Rice news might trigger the offense to consider that. Xavier Worthy hasn’t been the most stable receiver in today’s game, and Marquise Brown is a free agent. Pierce might be the weapon that Patrick Mahomes needs to wake this offense up and add a boost to the team’s momentum.

Carolina Panthers

If the Panthers want to continue to position Bryce Young as the best leader, then they should try getting Pierce. Rookie Tetairoa McMillan has changed this offense for several seasons, moving forward with his exciting talents. The same can’t be said about Xavier Legette. With Jalen Coker showing improvement, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Panthers want to be aggressive on offense this time and sign Pierce.
