Marvin Harrison Jr Injury Update: Cardinals Week 15 Status Revealed

After missing four of the past five games with an injury, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr is expected to return to the field in Week 16. While he’s officially listed as questionable with a heel injury, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the former top-five pick is expected to suit up against the Atlanta Falcons. While this isn’t an official report from the team, it suggests Harrison should play barring an unexpected setback.

Marvin Harrison Jr Injury Update: Cardinal WR Expected to Play Against Falcons

Assuming Rapoport’s report is correct, this will be the first time Harrison has played since Week 13 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While the team ultimately lost, 20-17, Harrison himself had a solid outing, hauling in six of his seven targets for 69 yards. Prior to that, he last appeared in Week 10, when he caught just three of his 12 targets for 33 yards and a touchdown against the Seattle Seahawks. So far on the season, the second-year veteran has recorded 40 receptions for 594 yards and four touchdowns. While he’s been a good player, he hasn’t lived up to his generational pre-draft billing at the professional level.

In his absence, former third-round pick Michael Wilson has established himself as a dangerous threat in the passing game. The third-year pro recorded over 115 yards in three of the four games without Harrison, so it will be interesting to see how the team divvies up targets with the Ohio State product back on the field. If Wilson can maintain this production, then he, Harrison, and star tight end Trey McBride can form a solid receiving trio for whoever is under center next year.
