Harold Fannin Injury Update: Browns TE’s Week 10 Status Revealed

Cleveland Browns tight end Harold Fannin popped up on the injury report with a hamstring injury, but that shouldn’t keep the impressive rookie from suiting up against the New York Jets. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Fannin is “trending towards playing” despite missing Thursday’s practice and being limited on Friday.

Harold Fannin Injury Update: Browns TE Likely to Play Against Jets

Assuming he plays through the injury, having Harold Fannin on the field will be huge for the Cleveland Browns. While the offense has largely been one of the worst in football, the rookie third-round pick has been one of the few bright spots. Immediately making a name for himself, the Bowling Green product has recorded 38 receptions for 352 yards and two touchdowns on 51 targets despite poor quarterback play from veteran Joe Flacco and rookie Dillon Gabriel. Tight ends generally struggle to adjust to life in the NFL as rookies, so the fact Fannin is playing this well already bodes well for his future.

Harold Fannin and the Cleveland Browns face off against a very beatable New York Jets team in Week 10. After starting the year with a dismal 1-7 record, the team embraced the tank and traded cornerback Sauce Garnder to the Indianapolis Colts and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the New York Jets. Cleveland’s offense has struggled to move the ball all season long, but they might find success against a weakened Jets defense.

While having Harold Fannin play will help this team in the short term, him overcoming the injury could hurt them in the long term. Rookie Dillon Gabriel has underwhelmed, and unless fifth-round pick Shedeur Sanders shows some life when he inevitably takes over, Cleveland will be looking for a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. If the Browns win today, it will almost certainly keep them from earning the first-overall pick.
