Lamar Jackson Injury Update: Quarterback Uncertain For Week 5 And Beyond

The Baltimore Ravens season is off to a bad start, as the team enters Week 5 with a 1-3 record while star quarterback Lamar Jackson battles an injury. The two-time MVP suffered a hamstring injury midway through Week 4’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and never returned to the game. While it was a one-sided affair, head coach John Harbaugh said Jackson wouldn’t have returned no matter what the score was, and his latest injury could sideline him for a few contests.

According to the Baltimore Sun’s Brian Wacker, Lamar Jackson is unlikely to play in Week 5 against the Houston Texans, and his injury could also sideline him for Week 6’s battle against the Los Angeles Rams.

Lamar Jackson Injury Update: Star QB Could Miss 2-3 Weeks

With Lamar Jackson battling injury, the Ravens will turn to longtime Dallas Cowboys backup Cooper Rush to keep the season afloat. The former undrafted free agent joined the Ravens in the offseason but made 14 starts with the Cowboys in relief of Dak Prescott. During his time on the field, the Central Michigan product has completed 60.9% of his passes for 3,515 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

The Ravens desperately need Rush to play well, as they’re already 1-3 and can’t afford to take any more losses. Baltimore entered the season with Super Bowl aspirations, but they might not be able to come back from a 1-4 or 1-5 start. The good news is Baltimore has a bye in Week 7, so it’s hard to imagine Lamar Jackson missing more than two games with his hamstring injury.
