3. Dave Canales, Panthers

This one, admittedly, would come as a surprise, but owner David Tepper has made stranger moves. Canales was hired to turn Bryce Young into a franchise quarterback, and the jury is still out on the former first-overall pick. While he had a strong finish to the 2024 season, he hasn’t captured that same success in 2025. With the defense looking weak and only one reliable receiver on offense, Canales could be out of a job after just two seasons.

Subjectively speaking, firing Canales is probably not the right move for the Carolina Panthers. This organization is widely viewed as one of the least stable units in football, and firing another coach less than two years into his tenure would only hurt their leaguewide reputation. However, Tepper isn’t the most patient owner in the world, and he might just fire Tepper if he can’t turn the season around.
