Breaking: 5-Time Pro Bowler Signs Contract With Las Vegas Raiders

10-year veteran wide receiver Amari Cooper signed a new contract with the Las Vegas Raiders. Cooper, a former first-round pick, spent the 2024 season with the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills but also played for the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys.

After starting the season with Cleveland, the Browns traded the veteran receiver to the Buffalo Bills midway through the season. Teaming up with Josh Allen, Cooper fell in line as a depth receiver and helped guide the team to the AFC Championship Game. Unfortunately, they lost a heartbreaker to the Kansas City Chiefs and missed out on their first Super Bowl appearance since the 1990s.

Amari Cooper originally entered the league as a first-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Selected by the Oakland Raiders, the Alabama product immediately showed why teams believed he was the best receiver in his class. Appearing in all 16 games, Cooper made a Pro Bowl while recording 72 receptions for 1,070 yards and six touchdowns on 130 targets. He followed it up with an equally impressive 2016, hauling in 83 receptions for 1,153 yards and five touchdowns as he and the Raiders made the playoffs. Unfortunately, a late-season Derek Carr injury led to an early playoff defeat.

After a relatively slow 2017, the Raiders traded Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys midway through the 2018 season. Immediately developing a rapport with Dak Prescott, the wide receiver recorded 53 receptions for 725 yards and six touchdowns in nine games in his new home. Dallas continued to bring out the best in him, as he made another Pro Bowl in 2019 while recording 79 receptions for 1,189 yards and eight touchdowns.

Since signing his rookie contract, Amari Cooper has played in 154 games while making 143 starts. While on the field, the former first-round pick has recorded 711 receptions for 10,033 yards and 64 touchdowns on 1,163 targets.
