Jauan Jennings Trade

BREAKING: 49ers Weapon Demands Trade, New Contract

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings has reportedly requested a new contract or a trade as he enters the final year of his deal. A former seventh-round pick, Jennings played well in a limited role early in his career before breaking out in 2024. Seeing a featured role for the first time, the Tennessee product finished the season with 77 receptions for 975 yards and six touchdowns, all career highs.

With Brandon Aiyuk recovering from an ACL injury and Deebo Samuel in Washington, Jennings should be the top wide receiver on the depth chart. Perhaps the 49ers pay up and give him a raise, but they might not have the financial liberty to make such a move with Brock Purdy earning franchise quarterback money. If the 49ers decide to trade Jauan Jennings, they should find plenty of interested suitors.

Next Teams

Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans must do something to support first-overall pick Cam Ward. While veteran Calvin Ridley is an adequate top option in the passing attack, the rest of the depth chart needs some work. Treylon Burks is a bust, Tyler Lockett is well past his prime, and Van Jefferson is nothing more than an unremarkable journeyman. Nobody will confuse Jauan Jennings with prime Randy Moss, but the trade candidate is a solid WR2 who should open up the offense with his ability to create separation and yards after the catch.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers remade their roster by acquiring big names like D.K. Metcalf, Aaron Rodgers, and Jalen Ramsey, but they might not be done yet. With George Pickens in Dallas, the Steelers must find someone capable of lining up opposite Metcalf, as the present-day version of Aaron Rodgers can no longer carry an offense by himself. Jauan Jennings will be a natural fit for this offense, and the Steelers proved this offseason that they won’t shy away from making a trade.

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints will not compete for a championship this year, but that shouldn’t stop them from trying to trade for Jauan Jennings. The team is embracing a long-overdue rebuild, and this year’s biggest priority should be determining what they have in second-round pick Tyler Shough. The best way to develop a young quarterback is to provide a supporting environment, and Jennings can help in that regard. Given Chris Olave’s extensive concussion history, New Orleans should add another capable set of hands if they want to allow Shough to truly shine.

Los Angeles Chargers

Head coach Jim Harbaugh prefers to win games on the ground, but a Jauan Jennings trade might be too good to ignore. Ladd McConkey is the featured part of this passing attack, but the Chargers shouldn’t shy away from adding someone like Jennings to the mix. When you share a division with Patrick Mahomes and a conference with Josh Allen and Joe Burrow, you must build a passing attack capable of scoring on every single drive. Justin Herbert is phenomenal, but it wouldn’t hurt to give him a little more offensive firepower. As an added bonus, Jennings is an elite run blocker, which should appeal to Harbaugh.
