“I Made Some Wrong Choices” – Browns Shedeur Sanders Speaks on Speeding Ticket

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders made the wrong types of headlines earlier in the week when the rookie recorded his second speeding ticket of the month while going 101 mph in a 65 mph zone. While this incident made the headlines, Alex Darus of Cleveland.com reported the Colorado product received a $150 fine earlier in the month for driving 91 in a 65 mph zone.

Two speeding tickets in less than a month are obviously not ideal, especially for a player like Shedeur Sanders, who slipped in the NFL Draft due to character concerns. During a recent appearance at David Njoku’s charity softball game, Sanders addressed the tickets and promised to make better choices moving forward.

Shedeur Sanders on Speeding Tickets: “I Made Some Wrong Choices”

Only time will tell if Shedeur Sanders learns anything from his recent speeding tickets. In the meantime, the fifth-round pick will compete with veterans Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco, along with fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, for the starting job on a wide-open quarterback depth chart. With Deshaun Watson sidelined with an Achilles injury, Sanders has the opportunity to overcome his draft capital and establish himself as the team’s quarterback of the future.

After finishing the 2024 season with the second-worst record in the NFL, the Cleveland Browns are projected to be one of the worst teams in the league. While anything can happen once the season starts, the 2025 campaign will likely be dedicated to finding someone capable of consistently moving the ball downfield. Even if Shedeur Sanders does not begin the season under center, it’s safe to assume he will see meaningful action at some point in the season. Hopefully, the much-maligned rookie will be up for the challenge when his number is called.
