4 Ravens Earn Prestigious Spot on PFF List

The Baltimore Ravens have some of the greatest players in recent NFL history, and PFF highlighted their dominance in a recent article. In a recent exercise to “create the best team possible of players from the past 25 years,” Jonathon Macri highlighted the best players of the past 25 years based on PFF grading, and four Ravens made the list: running back Derrick Henry, guard Marshall Yanda, linebacker Ray Lewis, and safety Ed Reed.

It’s worth noting that some of the aforementioned players’ careers started before PFF began grading every snap in 2006. Because of this, Macri put in “exceptions for those who are deserving, but played from 2000-2005.” Seeing as they’re unquestionably some of the greatest players in NFL history, it’s easy to see why Lewis and Reed made the list despite starting their careers before the existence of PFF as we know it today.

PFF: 4 Ravens Among the Best Players of the Past 25 Years

Derrick Henry is the only active Raven to earn a spot on the PFF list. While he is best known for his time with the Tennessee Titans, Macri highlights his impressive 2024 with the Baltimore Ravens, specifically calling out his league-leading 94.1 overall grade and 93.5 rushing grade while averaging a staggering 6.0 yards per carry. The veteran simply refuses to age and, now signed to an extension, should power this backfield for years to come.

Marshal Yanda, a lifelong member of the Baltimore Ravens, is the best right guard in the history of PFF. Famous for his consistently high level of play, the former third-round pick made eight Pro Bowls and earned First-Team All-Pro honors twice throughout his 13-year career.

Lewis and Reed, meanwhile, have a strong case for being the best players at their respective positions ever, not just in the past 25 years. Serving as the two most important pieces of multiple elite defenses, Lewis punished anyone who dared cross the middle of the field while Reed single-handedly made it impossible for the opposing quarterback to throw deep.
