Titans Trade Will Levis

Breaking: Titans Engaging In “Preliminary Trade Inquiries” For 21-Game Starter

The Tennessee Titans appear to be locked in on Miami’s Cam Ward with the first-overall pick, which means they will likely try to trade current starting quarterback Will Levis. A second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Levis showed some promise as a rookie, posting an up-and-down rookie season under then-head coach Mike Vrabel. Unfortunately, he couldn’t build on that performance, as Levis imploded in 2024 under first-year head coach Brian Callahan. In total, the quarterback completed 63.1% of his passes for 2,091 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in 12 games before losing the job to journeyman Mason Rudolph.

Will Levis may have worn out his welcome with the Titans, but other teams could be interested in a trade for the strong-armed quarterback. According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, Levis has been a part of “preliminary trade talks” and could have a new home if any interested team comes knocking. While last year’s season ensured nobody will hand him a starting job, the following five teams could be interested in securing him as a backup.

REPORT: Titans Looking to Trade Will Levis Ahead of 2025 NFL Draft

Possible Fits

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints have Derek Carr as their quarterback of the present. However, they need a quarterback of the future. For the first time in forever, the Saints are projected to be under the salary cap in 2026, which means they could finally start rebuilding their roster next year. Carr and his massive cap hit probably won’t return, so somebody must step up under center. Will Levis and Spencer Rattler could compete for the backup role in 2025 and, if one player impresses, could earn an extended audition in 2026.

Las Vegas Raiders

Pete Carroll and the Las Vegas Raiders believe Geno Smith is a true franchise quarterback. While he is one of the league’s better starters at the moment, he’s also entering his age-35 season. Smith won’t be around forever, and the Raiders must try and find a long-term answer to the position. Pete Carroll helped revive Smith’s career in Seattle, so perhaps he could do the same for Will Levis if the Titans trade him to the desert.

Los Angeles Chargers

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh has an elite quarterback in Justin Herbert. However, he doesn’t have a good Plan B at the position. Herbert spent the early part of 2024 playing through injury and clearly wasn’t himself. However, he had to keep playing, as veteran Taylor Heinicke wasn’t good enough to win games with this weak supporting cast. Will Levis may not have as high of a floor as Heinicke, but he has a higher ceiling. Harbaugh excels at getting the best out of his players, so perhaps some time on the bench could help turn Levis into one of the league’s more reliable backups.

Dallas Cowboys

Cooper Rush is in Baltimore, which means the Dallas Cowboys need a backup quarterback. Dallas has been remarkably unaggressive on the open market, preferring to trade for additions rather than spend up for available talent. That trend could continue, as the Titans would probably accept just about anything in a trade for Will Levis. Prescott will return to the lineup in 2025, but Will Grier cannot be the full-time backup.

Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings passed on Aaron Rodgers because they believe in first-round pick J.J. McCarthy. This is objectively the correct decision, as the Michigan product has plenty of upside. However, he has yet to play a snap in the NFL and the team cannot bet everything on an inexperienced quarterback carrying a championship-caliber roster. With Sam Darnold in Seattle, Will Levis could be the ideal backup who could save his career under offensive guru Kevin O’Connell.
