Ben Bredeson Contract

Breaking: 17-Game Starter Signs Contract With Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Five-year veteran offensive lineman Ben Bredeson signed a new contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bredeson, a former fourth-round pick, spent the 2024 season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but also played for the Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants.

Ben Bredeson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Agree to Contract

After a disappointing finish to his time with the New York Giants, Ben Bredeson signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the 2024 offseason. This move paid dividends for the Buccaneers, as the former fourth-round pick started all 17 games for Tampa Bay while helping the team win the NFC South. Unfortunately, their postseason ride came to a premature end after losing a heartbreaker to Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders.

Ben Bredeson originally entered the league as a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Selected by the Baltimore Ravens, the Michigan product didn’t do much of anything as a rookie. Appearing in 10 games without making a start, Bredeson finished the season with a 47.4 PFF grade, one of the lowest marks in the league.

The Ravens decided they had seen enough and traded the guard to the New York Giants during the 2021 offseason. Now in a new home, the Michigan product appeared in eight games but only made one start. Following that unremarkable season, he finally showed signs of life in 2022. Appearing in 11 games while making eight starts, Bredeson finished the season with a 57.5 PFF grade, the 53rd-best mark out of 77 eligible players. With his help, the Giants made the playoffs and defeated the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card round.

Ben Bredeson built on his promising 2023 and entered the final year of his contract as New York’s starting left guard. Unfortunately, his play took a major step back, as he switched between both guard spots and finished the season with a 42.5 PFF grade, the 75th-best mark out of 79 eligible players.
