Four-year veteran linebacker Baron Browning signed a new contract with the Arizona Cardinals. Browning, a former third-round pick, spent the 2024 season with the Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos.

Entering the final year of his rookie contract, Baron Browning spent the 2024 season with two different organizations. Starting the season with the Denver Broncos, the third-round pick played in five games while recording seven tackles and one tackle-for-loss. However, the Broncos traded him to the Arizona Cardinals for a sixth-round pick midway through the season. Browning played a larger role in Arizona, recording two sacks, 14 tackles, four tackles-for-loss, and three quarterback hits in eight games. However, despite his presence, the Cardinals missed the playoffs for the third straight season.

Baron Browning originally entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Selected by the Denver Broncos, the Ohio State product entered the NFL as a physically gifted specimen who needed to learn the nuances of the position. Browning began his career at inside linebacker and finished his rookie season with 58 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, and one quarterback hit in 14 games. However, Browning moved to edge defender in 2022 when Nathaniel Hackett replaced Vic Fangio as the team’s head coach.

Starting in eight games while making 14 appearances, Browning showed some promise on the edge. Playing a key role on one of the league’s top defenses, the versatile defender finished the season with five sacks, 23 tackles, eight tackles-for-loss, and 12 quarterback hits. Sean Payton replaced Hackett in 2023, but Browning remained productive. Once again earning a starting role, Browning recorded 4.5 sacks, 25 tackles, four tackles-for-loss, and nine quarterback hits in just 10 games.

Since signing his rookie contract, Baron Browning has appeared in 51 games while making 29 starts. While on the field, the Ohio State product has recorded 11.5 sacks, 128 tackles, 19 tackles-for-loss, and 25 quarterback hits.
