Micah Parsons Trade

Frustrated All-Pro Finally Addresses Trade Rumors

Micah Parsons trade rumors are everywhere following the latest comments by Cowboys Executive Vice President Stephen Jones. During a recent interview, Jones said the team probably won’t spend big in the upcoming offseason and that the organization is determining whether superstars are worth their massive contracts. This all came up in the context of a Micah Parsons extension, as the All-Pro pass rusher is nearing the end of his rookie contract and could earn the largest non-quarterback deal in NFL history.

For what it’s worth, Jones claimed that he couldn’t imagine Parsons not in a Cowboys uniform, and the edge defender recently said he wants to stick around. During his podcast, Parsons said in no uncertain terms that he wants to remain a Cowboy for life.

This is what fans want to hear, but it might not be the truth. Parsons deserves a massive contract, and the Cowboys might not want to pay his market value. If talks don’t progress, Dallas could trade Micah Parsons for a major return. Every team in the league would love to have a dominant edge rusher on the roster, but these five make the most sense.

5 Teams That Could Trade for Micah Parsons

Chicago Bears

Back in 2018, the Chicago Bears decided to maximize their current quarterback’s rookie window by trading for superstar edge defender Khalil Mack. That move worked out, as Mack earned First-Team All-Pro honors and made three Pro Bowls during his four seasons with the team. History could repeat itself here, as Chicago’s next head coach could prioritize defense while taking advantage of the financial security provided by Caleb Williams’ rookie contract.

Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers rebuilt their offense in 2024, but they did so at the expense of their defense. Bryce Young may or may not be Carolina’s quarterback of the future, but Carolina has the offensive line and receiving weapons to support a young quarterback. Now, they must build a defense capable of supporting this offense. The team never found a true replacement for Brian Burns, and a Micah Parsons trade could give this team the foundational piece they need for sustained success.

Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams knocked it out of the park with first-round pick Jared Verse. Already one of the league’s elite pass rushers, the Defensive Rookie of the Year frontrunner should terrorize opposing offensive tackles for years to come. However, he can’t do it all by himself, and Micah Parsons could give this team the league’s most ferocious pass-rushing duo. Matthew Stafford isn’t getting any younger, so Los Angeles could go all-in for the 2025 season and pull off a blockbuster trade.

New Orleans Saints

On paper, the New Orleans Saints do not have the money to trade for Micah Parsons. However, General Manager Mickey Loomis excels at manipulating the salary cap, so if he wants Parsons, he’ll find a way to bring him in. Despite firing head coach Dennis Allen, all signs point towards New Orleans once again mortgaging the future to try and compete in 2025. They won’t win anything with their current pass rush, but Parsons could be an ideal replacement for the aging Cameron Jordan.

Los Angeles Chargers

Head coach Jim Harbaugh believes in winning football games in the trenches with elite edge defenders. Unfortunately, he might not have any next year. Impending free agent Khalil Mack is not getting any younger, and injuries have taken their toll on the once-great Joey Bosa. Micah Parsons would thrive under Harbaugh, and Los Angeles should have the financial resources to facilitate a trade.
