While the deadline is still a month away, wide receiver trades could pick up in the coming weeks. Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro Davante Adams is the biggest name of the bunch, several players should receive plenty of interest on the trade market. Whether it’s a contender looking for a missing piece to a championship or a rebuilding team hoping to find a foundational puzzle piece, these eight receivers could find new homes in the coming weeks.

Wide Receiver Trades: Top Destinations For Biggest Available Playmakers
Davante Adams – New York Jets
The most obvious name on this list of wide receiver trades, Davante Adams will almost certainly join the New York Jets in the coming days. Aaron Rodgers isn’t playing up to his previous standard, but that won’t stop the team from going all-in on what could be his last season in the NFL. Adams wants to play with the Jets, Rodgers wants to play with Adams, and it’s clear that the Garrett Wilson connection isn’t quite there. This one is too obvious not to happen.
Amari Cooper – Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs spent the offseason investing in wide receivers, but injuries made all their work worthless. Rashee Rice and free agent signee Marquise Brown are done for the year, leaving Patrick Mahomes with an aging Travis Kelce, an inexperienced Xavier Worthy, and a washed-up Juju Smith-Schuster. Smith-Schuster played like it was 2018 last week, but that won’t be the norm. Kansas City needs a true difference-maker at wide receiver, and Amari Cooper is the best choice for the job. His elite route running paired with Mahomes’ arm and Andy Reid’s scheme could make this offense into the league’s best unit.
Diontae Johnson – Buffalo Bills
Head coach Sean McDermott said he’s concerned about the Buffalo Bills wide receivers, so don’t be surprised when they make a move for one of the top options on the board. With Curtis Samuel disappearing, Josh Allen and company could use a legitimate threat like Diontae Johnson. While he might not have the most reliable hands, he excels at getting open and should be a much-needed chain-moving presence in this offense. At 3-2, the Bills can’t afford to wait and could kick off the inevitable string of wide receiver trades.
Zay Jones – Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders have the league’s most efficient offense with offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury and second-overall pick Jayden Daniels leading the way. What they don’t have, however, is a defense or a reliable WR2. Terry McLaurin is still a good player, but this team could use someone like Zay Jones to support Daniels in the event he stops matching 2007 Tom Brady’s efficiency. Since defense is the bigger need, Washington could trade for a star defensive player and get Jones for a late-round pick swap.
DeAndre Hopkins – Los Angeles Chargers
The Tennessee Titans will hold on to DeAndre Hopkins as long as they believe Will Levis can be a franchise quarterback. However, if the second-year passer continues to make awful decisions, they could consider trades for their star wide receiver. The Los Angeles Chargers are feeling the impact of losing Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, as youngsters Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston aren’t doing enough to support a hobbled Justin Herbert. Hopkins isn’t the player he once was, but he can still make an impact as a perimeter threat in contested situations.
Christian Kirk – Denver Broncos
Bo Nix may or may not be the answer in Denver, but the Broncos won’t truly know what they have until they upgrade the wide receiver room. Courtland Sutton’s aggressive, downfield style of play isn’t a natural fit for Nix’s conservative tendencies, so Denver could use someone capable of getting open quickly near the line of scrimmage. Christian Kirk fits that description to a tee and the Jacksonville Jaguars should trade him if they continue to fall behind in the AFC South race.
Tee Higgins – New England Patriots
The Bengals are easily the most disappointing 1-4 team in the league, and their fall from grace could lead to one of the most shocking wide receiver trades of them all. The Bengals don’t have the money to bring back Tee Higgins in 2025, so if they can’t compete this year, they could trade him to a desperate New England Patriots team. New England needs another receiver and the promise of first-round pick Drake Maye could entice Higgins to sign a long-term deal before he reaches free agency.
Romeo Doubs – Baltimore Ravens
Romeo Doubs wants more targets, and the wide receiver could get his wish if Green Bay trades him to the Baltimore Ravens. Zay Flowers is the only proven option in the passing game, and Doubs’ style is a perfect complement for the former first-round pick. Additionally, Doubs is a remarkable run blocker, which is an important tool when you share a field with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry.
