Sauce Gardner Clarifies Controversial Comments on Livestream

Sauce Gardner clarified a controversial comment he made about Jewish people on a livestream with popular streamer Adin Ross.

Sauce Gardner clarified a controversial comment he made about Jewish people on a livestream with popular streamer Adin Ross. The star cornerback is entering his third year as a Jet in 2024. He was also an all-pro and Pro Bowler in his first two years with the Jets.

After the backlash, the star defensive back took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify his controversial statement. Ross discussed how he got a Tesla Cybertruck because of his Jewish ethnic background. Sauce Garnder intervened with his controversial statement, drawing a lot of backlash from the public.

What Did Sauce Gardner Say Exactly?

During a livestream appearance with Ross, Gardner said in the viral clip, “I will be honest, no funny stuff. You all run the world. Three other guests and Ross were laughing in response to his controversial statement. There was widespread criticism of Sauce Gardner on social media, with people accusing Gardner of Anti-Semitism.

One user on X wrote, “I no longer like Sauce Gardner.” Gardner continued, saying, “They have so much motion throughout the world. You all have to see how they walk at the airport.” In response to criticism of his statements, Sauce Gardner said on X, “I love all people. While my intentions were positive, I just learned that people use those exact words I shared for hate towards Jewish people. That is not what I am about, and I appreciate those who took the time to educate me on that fact.”

However, Ross defended Garnder by responding to his post, “Bro, I’m Jewish. You did and said nothing wrong. You said Jews run the world in a good way, which is true; I said you were fine, so I will defend you.”  The online streamer has a massive following on Kick while previously amassing many followers on rival streaming site Twitch.

In a deleted statement on X, Gardner wrote, “The majority of my agency/marketing team are Jewish. You probably just took what I said the wrong way, but what I said was meant to be a good thing.”

Have The Jets Responded to Sauce Gardner?

No, the Jets haven’t released any statements regarding the incident involving their star defensive back. Currently, no statements by teammates, coaches, or management have responded to Gardner or the controversy surrounding his statements about Jewish people.

Garnder has endured a disappointing season with the Jets, failing to make the playoffs and finishing 7-10. Garnder is not the only athlete who’s been accused of anti-semitism following social media posts. In 2021, NBA star Myles Lenord made an antisemitic slur on Twitch, a gaming platform. He eventually apologized for his actions.

The New York Jets have already been dealing with trade rumors surrounding Zach Wilson, the team’s No.2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. After another frustrating season, this incident is the last thing the Jets need come 2024. Since then, Gardner has received a mixture of criticism and defenses from the public of his controversial statements.

Conclusion

Sauce Gardner will start his third year with the New York Jets in the 2024 NFL season. He was an All-Pro and Pro-Bowler in his first two seasons with Gang Green. The Jets drafted him out of Cincinnati in 2022.
