The Washington Commanders couldn’t stop anything on defense, but cornerback Kendall Fuller was not a part of the problem. Starting in 15 games, the former third-round pick finished the season with two interceptions, nine passes defended, 79 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, and an 83.1 PFF grade, the seventh-best mark out of 127 eligible players.

Kendall Fuller originally entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Selected by the Washington Redskins, the Virginia Tech product spent the early portion of his career as a rotational part of the secondary. Playing in 13 games while making six starts, the rookie finished his inaugural season with two passes defended, 42 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, and four quarterback hits.

Fuller returned to the Redskins in 2017, appearing in all 16 games while making six starters. While on the field, the Virginia Tech product recorded four interceptions, 10 passes defended, one forced fumble, 55 tackles, and two tackles-for-loss.

Following the season, Washington traded Fuller and a third-round pick to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for quarterback Alex Smith. Now on an AFC contender, the cornerback started in 15 games while recording two interceptions, 12 passes defended, one forced fumble, and 82 tackles as the team made it to the AFC Championship Game.

Kendall Fuller saw his role decrease in the final year of his rookie contract. Appearing in 11 games while making four starts, Fuller finished the season with two passes defended, one sack, 49 tackles, and three tackles-for-loss. Despite the low playing time, Fuller still helped the Chiefs win their first Super Bowl of the Patrick Mahomes Era.

Now a free agent, Kendall Fuller signed a new contract with the Washington Commanders. Returning to his original NFL home, the cornerback spent the past four seasons under Ron Rivera.
