After four years in Tampa Bay, Sean Murphy-Bunting spent the 2023 season playing on a one-year contract with the Tennessee Titans. The veteran had a decent season, starting and appearing in 14 games while recording 57 tackles, three tackles-for-loss, two interceptions, and eight passes defended. The Titans themselves, however, went 6-11 and fired head coach Mike Vrabel at the end of the season.

Sean Murphy-Bunting originally entered the league as a second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Central Michigan product immediately made an impact on the defense. Appearing in all 16 games while making 10 starts, the defensive back finished his inaugural season with three interceptions, eight passes defended, 44 tackles, one tackle-for-loss, and one sack.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Tom Brady the following offseason as Murphy-Bunting’s role in the defense continued to increase. Starting 13 games while appearing in all 16, the Central Michigan product recorded one interception, three passes defended, and 70 tackles. He came up huge in the postseason, recording three interceptions as the Buccaneers hoisted the second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history.

Murphy-Bunting returned as a starter in 2021 but quickly suffered an elbow injury in Week 1. This landed him on the short-term injured reserve, limiting him to just nine games on the season. In total, the cornerback recorded three passes defended, 43 tackles, and one tackle-for-loss.

Sean Murphy-Bunting saw a reduced role during the final year of his rookie contract. Appearing in 12 games while making five starts, the former second-round pick finished the campaign with two interceptions, seven passes defended, 31 tackles, and one tackle-for-loss.
