Waiver Wire Week 14 – Tyjae Spears or Bust

The waiver wire Week 14 has a golden goose in Tyjae Spears, but who are some other names to target? Let's get ready for the playoffs.

Welcome to the Thunderdome. Week 14 kicks off the fantasy football playoffs for many leagues, and waiver wire pickups are now more important than ever. It’s time to push the chips in and win some championships. Let’s dive into a must add or stash at each position, and a streaming defense.

Waiver Wire Week 14 – Tyjae Spears or Bust

Tyjae Spears, Running Back Tennessee Titans

Spears was one of the must draft handcuffs, and is now the number one waiver add this week. He’s talented, Derrick Henry is in concussion protocol, and their playoff schedule is one for the ages. Worst case scenario, he’s a running back two for this week. Best case scenario he’s a league winner moving forward. Tyjae Spears is available in 68% of leagues on ESPN.

Ezekiel Elliot, Running Back New England Patriots

It’s 2023 and Elliot might be a top 15 option in the playoffs. Their schedule is one of the best for fantasy running backs. Now with Rhamondre Stevenson injured, Elliot will get the majority of the touches in an anemic offense. Ezekiel Elliot is available in 66% of leagues on ESPN.

Land Mines – Avoid Jonathan Mingo and Alec Pierce

Each of these wide receivers put up solid Week 13 performances, but shouldn’t be on your waiver radar. Mingo faces one of the toughest playoff schedules for a receiver, while Pierce is a deep ball threat who won’t be a consistent enough option to be in your lineups. Both are available in over 80% of leagues on ESPN.

Jayden Reed, Wide Receiver Green Bay Packers

Christian Watson has what appears to be a pretty serious injury, and Reed has already shown what he can do in a large role. He shouldn’t be as widely available as he is and gets an easy matchup against the New York Giants on Week 14. Plug and play flex option. Jayden Reed is available in 55% of leagues on ESPN.

Gerald Everett, Tight End Los Angeles Chargers

After a disgusting matchup against the New England Patriots, Everett and the Chargers now get to face the 32nd-ranked team against tight ends, the Denver Broncos. Everett is widely available and is the number two option for Justin Herbert at this point in the season. There’s not a better tight end sitting on waivers this week. Gerald Everett is available in 75% of leagues on ESPN.

Will Levis, Quarterback Tennessee Titans

This is more of a stash for Week 15 or in case of injury this week. Levis has matchups against the Seattle Seahawks, Houston Texans, and the Texans again to close out the fantasy season. For the same reason Spears is a must-add, Levis will have to air it out more without the king back there. His film gives cause for hope, but some of his decisions could catch up with him down the stretch. Will Levis is available in 82% of leagues on ESPN.

New England Patriots D/ST

The Patriots play the Pittsburgh Steelers who are choosing between Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph at quarterback. There’s not an easier waiver wire defense option this week. The Patriots D/ST is available in 68% of leagues on ESPN.
