Week 1 is in the rearview mirror. Last week’s bets were good, but Week 2 has some juicy options. There should be some high-flying matchups across the AFC, and betting lines are reflecting. Best Player Props NFL Week 2 – AFC
Keenan Allen, WR Los Angeles Chargers Over Receiving Yards
In seven of his last nine games he’s topped that number and now he’s playing against a Tennessee Titans defense that would struggle against any passing offense. Justin Herbert is certified good at football.
Allen is set to line up across from either Sean Murphy-Bunting or a banged-up Kristian Fulton. Neither of those corners strikes fear into players or sports bettors. Allen is a smash play.
Lamar Jackson, QB Baltimore Ravens Over Passing Touchdowns
It’s not crazy to bet on a former MVP. It would be crazy to overreact to Week 1 when the Ravens were without their top pass-catching option, Mark Andrews. He only needs to throw touchdowns against the Cincinnati Bengals, which isn’t asking too much.
Zay Flowers looks like the real deal. Rashod Bateman isn’t a slouch, and when healthy is another solid option on the outside. Anything Odell Beckham Jr. brings to the table is just icing on the cake. Lamar is primed for a bounceback game, and this is a player prop to bet on.
Harrison Butker, K Kansas City Chiefs Over Extra Points Made
This is going to be the most fun game of the week. Patrick Mahomes against Trevor Lawrence, two of the top 20 players in the NFL are going to light up the scoreboard. Butker is just going to be on the receiving end of it. . When the game’s O/U is 51.5, these extra points shouldn’t be too big of a task.
Davante Adams, WR Las Vegas Raiders Under Receiving Yards
The list of wide receivers to bet against doesn’t normally include Davante Adams. Unfortunately, his line is just set a hair too high to be tenable. In his last five games played, Adams has gone under this line three out of five times and only barely snuck over against Kansas City.
He’s already nursing an injury, and their defense has no chance of stopping the Buffalo Bills offense. If they go down three or four scores Adams could find himself getting ready for Week 3 before hitting this number.
Garrett Wilson, WR New York Jets Under Receiving Yards
From Week 4 to Week 11 (the games Zach Wilson was the starter) Garrett Wilson topped 45 yards only twice. He only topped 30 yards three times. Now they match up against the Dallas Cowboys who held the other team in New York scoreless.
The Jets spent the whole offseason building an offense and a game plan around Aaron Rodgers. Now they have Zach Wilson doing his best, but Garrett Wilson and the offense are going to take some time to look better.
