Kansas City Chiefs Schedule: Predicting Every Game
Week 1: vs Detroit Lions
The Kansas City Chiefs schedule begins with a matchup against the Detroit Lions. The Lions are a team on the rise, but Dan Campbell and company didn’t do nearly enough to bring this unit to the next level. Selecting a running back and inside linebacker in the first round promises to be a terrible return on investment. The Lions will be good in 2023, but you need to be great to beat the Kansas City Chiefs.
Prediction: Chiefs win, 1-0
Week 2: at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars played great down the stretch last year, and Trevor Lawrence is playing up to his prospect billing. Any team with a quarterback that good will be tough to defeat, and perhaps Jacksonville can establish itself as an elite AFC power in 2024 or 2025. However, right now, they’re still too young and have too many missing pieces on both sides of the ball.
Prediction: Chiefs win, 2-0
Week 3: vs Chicago Bears
Justin Fields is a nice up-and-coming quarterback, and the Bears did a phenomenal job of adding talent on both sides of the ball. That being said, they’re still a few years away from competing. The Bears are hoping to put together a .500 season, while the Chiefs are Super Bowl favorites. Good luck, Chicago.
Prediction: Chiefs win, 3-0
Week 4: at New York Jets
Aaron Rodgers makes the New York Jets a substantially better football team than Zach Wilson did, but is he going to be enough to overpower the reigning Super Bowl champions? Maybe he could do that in his peak, but the 40-year-old, good-but-not-great version of Rodgers probably can’t, especially since he will still be relatively inexperienced with his new team.
Prediction: Chiefs win, 4-0
Week 5: at Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings went 11-0 in one-score games last year, and that’s not going to happen again. Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison have the potential to be one of the better wide receiver duos in football, but that’s not going to make up for all of the inevitable regression. Minnesota has a decent roster, but they can’t keep up with Kansas City.
Prediction: Chiefs win, 5-0
Week 6: vs Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos were a dumpster fire last year, and it’s hard to see that improving. Sean Payton’s quick passing game and Russell Wilson’s inability to work the middle of the field are a match made in hell, and the defense will only get worse with Ejiro Evero in Carolina.
Prediction: Chiefs win, 6-0
Week 7: vs Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert is one of the few quarterbacks in the game that can go blow-for-blow with Patrick Mahomes, and he should be even more deadly now that he doesn’t have Joe Lombardi singlehandedly ruining everything. These two teams are incredibly evenly matched, but since the Chiefs have home-field advantage, we’ll have to wait a little longer before the Chiefs take their first loss on the schedule.

Week 8: at Denver Broncos
See above. Unless Russell Wilson recaptures his 2019 form, the Broncos are essentially a free square on the Kansas City Chiefs schedule.
Prediction: Chiefs win, 8-0
Week 9: at Miami Dolphins
While a Tyreek Hill revenge game is a good way to sell tickets, the Miami Dolphins simply aren’t good enough to beat the Kansas City Chiefs. Sure, anything can happen on any given Sunday, but Tua Tagovailoa simply lacks the power to match Kansas City’s high-flying offense. Plus, if there’s anyone that should know how to slow Tyreek Hill, it’s Andy Reid.
Prediction: Chiefs win, 9-0
Week 11: vs Philadephia Eagles
The Eagles came one stop short of winning the Super Bowl last year, and they’ve only gotten better since February of 2022. Howie Roseman had a draft for the ages, and the team added several key players in free agency. With revenge in their hearts, the Eagles should be able to come into Arrowhead and hand the Chiefs their first loss on the schedule.
Prediction: Chiefs lose, 9-1
Week 12: at Las Vegas Raiders
Josh McDaniels is proving that his first stint in Denver was not a fluke. The offensive-minded head coach might be able to scheme a good offense, but he is terrible at acquiring and evaluating talent. Jimmy Garoppolo is a massive downgrade from Derek Carr, and this offensive line will put him in a hospital before long. This is probably it for McDaniels’ head coaching career, and he’ll likely go out with a whimper.
Prediction: Chiefs win, 10-1
Week 13: at Green Bay Packers
Even with Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers are no match for the Kansas City Chiefs. Green Bay is clearly building for the future with one of the youngest depth charts in the league. They’re not trying to win a Super Bowl this year, so they shouldn’t be too difficult for the Chiefs schedule.
Prediction: Chiefs win, 11-1
Week 14: vs Buffalo Bills
Arguably the two best teams in the AFC face off in a game that should have serious playoff implications. The Bills won this matchup last year, but it was only by four points and could have easily gone either way. Truthfully, this one should be just as competitive, but since the Chiefs have home-field advantage, we’ll give them the edge here.
Prediction: Chiefs win, 12-1
Week 15: at New England Patriots
Bill Belichick is better than most at slowing down the Kansas City Chiefs passing attack, but that won’t really matter when the Patriots offense is such a disaster. Mac Jones is coming off a season to forget, New England doesn’t have a single reliable pass-catcher, and the offensive line has serious questions at both tackle positions. Bill O’Brien is a smart offense mind, but he can’t overcome all of that.
Prediction: Chiefs win, 13-1
Week 16: vs Las Vegas Raiders
The Kansas City Chiefs schedule domination continues into Week 16. The Las Vegas Raiders are not nearly as good as the Chiefs, and by this point in the season, there is a very real chance that the terrible offensive line will have put Jimmy Garoppolo in a hospital. Even though they’re division foes, it’s hard to see a world where matchup is even remotely competitive.
Prediction: Chiefs win, 14-1
Week 17: vs Cincinnati Bengals
The Kansas City Chiefs finally took down the Cincinnati Bengals en route to their Super Bowl win, but they needed quite a few lucky breaks to pull out the victory. Joe Burrow seems to know how to beat Kansas City, so even though the Chiefs have home-field advantage in this one, we’re going to give the win to the road team.
Prediction: Chiefs lose, 14-2
Week 18: at Los Angeles Chargers
Assuming both teams have something to play for, this should be the most exciting matchup of the regular season finale. These two teams have provided some of the best football of the past two seasons, but the Los Angeles Chargers should emerge victorious with a supporting crowd on their backs.
